What is the best book for learning to read tarot cards? I'm currently interested in learning to read tarot cards and was wondering what is the best books out for learning how. Also if anyone has any advise or tips for learning I would like to hear them.

Just learning to read Tarot Cards.. Outside interpretation help? I just spent three weeks learning the whole tarot deck, in depth, and I just did my first reading. I'm curious as to what anyone with experience thinks these cards in this layout might mean. I set out curious about how my work week would go, this week, using the Cross of Truth layout, and here's what I got. Position 1 - Basis - Ace of Swords Position 2 - Desires, Fears/Hopes - The Empress Position 3 - Helpful Matters - Ten of Swords Position 4 - Obstacles - Five of Swords Position 5 - Outcome - King of Cups. Now, I've of course had my own interpretation for all this, the one that has me particularly stuck, is the King od Cups in the outcome position. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
I'm learning to read the Tarot cards--what does it mean when it says, "reversed"? I read up on how to read the Tarot--it said when the card is "reversed" it means a different thing. When it says "reversed", I'm assuming it means 'upside down'. Now--does this mean upside down to the reader of the cards or the person who is having their fortune told? I am superstitious, but I am definitely not "psychic." Please just answer the question. Thank you!

Learning to read tarot cards? Recently, I have turned to pyschics to help me through the rough time my life is having now. Most recently though, the reader pulled a pyschic card for me. Not just once, but 3 times total in the reading. She said that I do have the ability, and I would be very good at it. i'm learning how to read tarot cards, reading help? so i just did a celtic cross spread no reverse cards. the querent is a female...the question was about love, falling in love with someone very quickly that lives far away.. the first card was ace of wands, and crossing that was the lovers. under was the knight of cups(i assume represents the guy in question he's a pisces), above the page of wands. in the past temperance, the future 9 of wands. 7- high priestess, 8- ace of cups, 9- 9 of swords, and 10- wheel of fortune. my interpretation is this is very positive and that this love is promising. i'd love to hear anyone's input?

What happens if you burn tarot cards? I always wanted to learn to read tarot cards, my mum was very good at it. After she died a few years ago my dad tried them. They must have told him something that scared him so he burned them, along with the book that came with them. They were lovely cards and I loved the fact that they had belonged to my mum, so I was pretty angry with him for burning them, but he said there's some things we're better off not knowing. tarot readers: why is it bad to become too dependent on tarot cards? i have been reading cards for years and i turn to the cards for advice, insight into situations, and for help in making major decisions....it has served me well, thus far. however, some tarot readers warn that i sound as if i am becoming too dependent on the cards. what is the harm in that? since learning to read tarot cards, i have become more at peace with myself and much more confident in my decisions! before i was too dependent on my friends to give me advice..now i can rely on my subconscious. do the cards start lying to you, after awhile? if you give yourself too many readings, will you eventually lose the ability to read for youself? how do you know when you are too dependent on the cards, anyway? this question is for tarot readers. i dont care if you think tarot is a con or evil..keep your damn opinions to yourself ;) lol, i was just trying to be funny when i said "keep your damn opinions to yourself." you can preach all you want about how evil or how fraudulent they are but its not like ill take you seriously ;)

I'm extremely spiritual, I'm an Indigo, and I'm Intuitive, and I figured this next step into Tarot Reading would be a great choice for me. I'm only on step 4 out of 22 steps on my book. I've been DYING to touch the cards and skip to the part in my book where it gives the meanings... and just start doing a spread for myself... BUT I know this will not benefit me in the long run, for I am a serious "student" to this and want to be the best of my ability :) So how long before you were able to do your first reading on yourself? Could I get some Christian views on Tarot cards? I am learning to read Tarot cards (oh, I can almost hear the gasps of dread...) I really like the deck, the Gilded Tarot, it's really beautiful. As far as I can tell there's nothing to sugest Satan or an evil of any kind controls the cards. I haven't become a 'darker' person. Just to kick up more controversy, I'm only 16! "Oh no, not even an adult and he's already Satan's slave..." I don't even believe in the devil. I don't believe in any deity. Including God. I'm an athiest (I explain the ways Tarot cards work in a scientific way; using the energy surrounding us. I guess it is sort of spiritual.) So, what's your Christian opinion? (Just so I can point and laugh) GENERAL RESPONSE TO THOSE WHO SAY "COME TO GOD, NOT SATAN": Tarot cards are not the tool of Satan, not have they ever been afiliated with him. Jesus lived 1000 years ago and Tarot cards appeared in the 15th Century, WAY after Jesus and were originally used as gaming cards. That's it! I don't know how some of you can retain that blind faith. Jesus lived over 1000 years ago and still you say we should all be his friend. When he was alive, the crusifix was a barbaric symbol of death and tortute. You know, you're really just scared, scared that there is no afterlife, scared that there's no heaven and no God. If you die and find out there's not...I guess it will be a hollow victory. I WANT there to be an afterlife but reason tells me different. I don't know why some of you say "Tarot communicates with evil and tells you things you're not meant to know." WRONG! Tarot cards only give you advice and provide windows to yourself.

learning tarot cards..? i have been learning tarot cards for about 4 days now.... i am studying the major arcana first because im a beginner. i Pretty much know what all the major arcana represents. I have been reading myself and i decided to read my friend. I did the past present and future layout. Everything that the cards said was realllllyyy accurate.. i told her to ask the question in her head so i wouldn't know her question and so i could try to figure out what her question was. well anyways i knew what her question was about when i finished the reading. i just cant believe how accurate the reading was and that was my first time reading for someone besides myself. QUESTION... as i get more into the cards will images come to me about a persons question? Is it alright to study the major arcana first since im a beginner?
what is the big deal about being able to read tarot? When I was first learning to read tarot a women introduced the idea to me and i would have never otherwise have looked into tarot reading. One of my friends in our small circle said " this is the only way I would believe in this stuff because I knew you before you started the tarots, if you said oh I can read tarot cards, I would have been like yeah OK and not believed you" What is the big deal? Tarot reading comes naturally to me personally. should i get the tarot kit with companion book or just the cards? i am a tarot novice. you can actually say that i buy tarot decks for the art itself. i would like to learn to read cards one of these days, but right now i just do have the time and will to extend myself that far. after buying 20 or so decks, i cannot help but wonder if i should simply buy the cards or go for the complete kit like i have been doing. some decks will give you the option of purchasing the cards along or with a companion book which will run you an extra 10 to 15 bucks. i'll be the first to admit that i hardly ever read any of the books, but let's say i want to learn to read cards in the future, will i be better off getting the whole kit instead of just the cards? are those companion books as essential as an operation manuals or something more or less to suck more money off consumers? i would really like to know how other tarot practitioners do when buying tarot cards. any assistance will be greatly appreciated. thank you very much. on the first paragraph, i really wanted to say that i DO NOT have time and will to learn instead of DO.

Are Tarot Cards Sinful? Is reading them a Sin? This question is directed primarily at Christians. Would you consider reading tarot cards a sin? Why and why not? Now, I know some people are going to answer that it is a sin because the Bible forbids sorcery and divination. So, instead of answering in that direction, what if they're used simply as a guide to learning more about yourself? What if they're simply used as a tool to search the unconscious mind or bring out things you may have never thought of before? opinions on tarot cards please? i am interested in learning the art of tarot card reading and would like to know your opinions on this please.do you believe you can study and learn this? or do you believe you are born with a gift of understanding and reading them? can anyone suggest any where i can get more of an understanding of all that is involved? many thanks for all answers
How To Read Playing Cards?(not tarot)? my mom is old fashion and thinks tarot is from the Devil and doesnt let me have one i want to know how to do the procedures and what the cards mean. some of my friends do this love reading but i dont think its accurately 1:shouffle the cards according to how many letter the persons name is then you put the cards in a row of four and you keep adding then you just take cards away by pairs until u r left with the king and ace of spades, the ace and queen of hearts 2:think of the guy shoufle the deck 4 times, divide the deck in 4 and get the top cards until you reach the King, Ace of Spades and the Queen, Ace of hearts.once you reach any of those cards, if there are cards under it let them there and go to the next deck.. you do the same thing but with less shouffles everytime 4,3,2,1 then you set them down and see the out come i dont think thats right, so thats y i want to learn to do the deck reading. is there a good e-book or website i can learn? I was curious how you are able to read a time frame when it comes to questions that ask for when is something going to happen.
