Is it bad to read tarot cards to yourself? and do they tell the truth?

Public Comments

  1. I dont think you can read them yourself, a objective view of them would be better
  2. mediums in the old testament are known to be sinful. i would put tarot cards in that category, and no truth as far as I have heard.
  3. I do not know for sure. Some witch friends of mine say that the cards are not objective when it comes to yourself, so they don't tell the truth. I don't believe in tarot cards anyway, if you can't find the answers within yourself, you will never find them.
  4. Tarot cards are not toys and you shouldn't have anything to do with them. Spiritual objects should be treated with respect and fear. Keep away from them.
  5. Its fine, go ahead, after all you open your own fortune cookies don't you? I suppose that fortunes always have some chance to be true. Wouldn't let anything hokey like that or religion run my life though.
  6. No, and no.
  7. They are from the devil.
  8. I look at it as a science, not a religion. I think you have been given the ability to see into the future, tarot cards can help you to do it. That is why it is looked down on by churches as there is a passage that tells us that we are not to be fortunetellers.
  9. Yes, it is. No they don't...satan can play with you using those cards...take good care and start praying! May God bless you!
  10. 1.Deuteronomy 18:10 & 11 & 12 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 2. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD.
  11. Throw them in the fire where they belong. They carry no bases for anything. Or play now.... pay later.
  12. You need to be incredibly disciplined and uncommonly honest with yourself. It is possible, but are you able to be completely objective and not skew the reading to what you want it to say. The cards ALWAYS tell the truth; they can not lie...only the poor, unscrupulous reader lies and ruins a reading. I have been reading/ teaching Tarot a very long time, and I go to another reader whom I respect highly for my reads...when I feel as if I need one. Good Luck to you!
  13. Where does it say in the Bible that tarot cards are wrong? You can look in the book of Deuteronomy and Leviticus. You can see the prohibitions against witchcraft and sorcery. Tarot cards are part of the sorcerer's tools. God said, 'Should not a people turn to the Living God and not to these spirits that peep and mutter?'
  14. If you wish to do self-readings, buy a book on Tarot meanings. If possible buy a book specific to the deck you are using, such as "The Book Of Thoth" if you are using a Thoth deck. Follow the patterns given by the book, read the meanings given for each position and card, then meditate on the entirety. Do not try to glean meanings of particular cards on your own. Ignore those who fear what they do not understand. Laugh at those who try to saddle you with their own created demons.
  15. my goodness, you seem to have struck a nerve with the bible folks out there...there are lots of folks on the web that will help you, and even do a reading for you--on line or over the phone...try not to be too swayed by the people that responded to your question so negatively, it just sounds like they are threatened by something different...
  16. It isn't bad to read Tarot for yourself, but it may be difficult to give yourself and objective interpretation. The same goes for people you are close with. I have once read for my neighbor, whom I didn't know very well. What I was telling her, didn't make the slightest bit of sense to me. After I was done, I looked up at her, and she was floored! Had I known her a bit better, I might have tried to make the information "fit" to her situation.
  17. would be cynical of the readings if you are doing one for yourself as there may be influences involved beyond your kin. suggest you go to a friend who will read for you and you for them especially if they know what they are doing
  18. I wouldnt say its bad... But You have a tendency to read what you want to into the reading , therefore my advice would be to have a very good book and read from the book the meaning rather than using your own feelings.
