I just got a deck of tarot cards, help?

so i got the cards. i know it takes an extremely long time to know what all the cards mean, but i want to know the basics. can u just do the 22 cards thing? do the cards have to be in the same direction, or can they be upsidedown. does it matter when ur dealing the cards? . what is the process when reading someones cards? what do you make them do or whatever? and is there a website to tell you which card means? - also when im researching there are things like, this card focuses on desire to love, etc. well, what does the card mean to the questioneer? if u can please can u please answer at least one of these questions? thank you

2. The first thing you need to do is charge your cards before you can do any reads. Wrap your cards is something silk (not black if you can help it) and carry them with you all the time so that they pick up your energy. You should have gotten a book explaining the basic meanings of the cards. If you didn't, go and pick one up. Learn the basics and as you get better at readings, you will not need the book so much. The book will also teach you how to lay out the cards for different readings. It takes allot of practise to do readings but if you work at you will get better. Just to let you know also, you can't "make" the cards do anything. They do what they will for each reading. Also, tarot cards are not evil but you may be able to do bad things with them (I have be told) but I, in any of the readings that I have done, have never had anything evil happen. 3. Didn't you get a little book with your deck of tarot cards? That should give you a brief explanation of each card's meaning. Yes, you can do a reading with just the Major Arcana, the "22" cards you mentioned. Some readers think the upside down cards have different meanings than the upright cards. Since you are just starting out with tarot cards, I wouldn't take them too seriously just yet. Get a feeling for the cards, look at the symbols on each card. Tarot cards use ancient symbols which your subconscious might be able to figure out without a book. The cards are just a tool. They provide a way to focus your awareness on doing the reading, but ultimately, YOU are the one who does the reading, the cards just give you some symbols to work with. Which deck did you get?
