Who Read Tarot Cards?
What decks do you use? I am in love with the voyager deck

- I use the Italian one.
- I use the standard Rider Waite deck. I'm just most comfortable with them.
- I switch between celtic dragon, thoth and animal divine depending on the question and the questioner.
- I have at least 6 decks within arms reach. I read them for specific magickal purposes and not to find out when the tall dark magickian will come into someones life. I am particularly fond of the imagery of the Thoth deck. I have been known to use Duquette's Ceremonial Magick deck or ever the ol' Rider Waite. Because of what I do with them the cards need to be more than pretty pictures. They have to connect to specific places on the astral and work within a Tree of Life framework. With the hundreds of decks out there, many of them are just pictures. That is fine if you want them as art but if you want to actually DO anything with them you need to make sure that they are working in that framework. I have a great Alice in Wonderland deck that I got for a party. It is lovely and totally useless. Enjoy your universe!
- I most often use Robin Wood, Rider-Waite, and (if I HAVE to....) Thoth. I have about twenty assorted decks, some just to collect, some for the feel of them. I prefer to read with Robin Wood because the images are rather "upbeat" and are less intimidating to people that are unfamiliar with Tarot. It's the difference between, "Death!! OMG! I'm gonna DIE!!!"" and, "Oh, look, Death lives in a pretty forest with roses...", lol!
- I have perhaps a dozen decks, including the Voyager but I find the Voyager hard to read. I often use a deck that was designed by Salvador Dali--it was the most expensive deck I ever bought. I also have a collection of decks that are facsimiles of 17th and 18th century Italian tarocchi decks. The one I usually use is the Soprafino Tarocchi. The Minicchiati Tarocchi (a 17th century Italian deck) is interesting because it includes cards depicting the zodiac, the elements, and the virtues and some of the "knight" cards are ladies instead. Some samples of the cards and essays about card reading appear on my blog--but you have to drill down through several pages of posts to find them. I think I wrote the posts back in November.
- I like the Robin Wood deck because the pictures have a very Wiccan "flavor" and I'm Wiccan. I also like the Spiral deck, and the Ancestral Path deck.
- I currently use several decks, but over the course of the 26 years that I have been reading (and 20 of those in a professional capacity), I find that I prefer the Mythic Tarot for most readings. There are occasions where other decks are more appropriate, but when there are no extenuating circumstances, I use the Mythic.
- My tarot that I use is the celtic dragon. I hated the rider waite deck. I couldn't connect to the energy of it. However, I have probably 10 oracle decks and use those more often.
- I use the Mystic Faeire deck.
- i use the italian verson and it alwasyxworks its creepy
- I have a large collection of Tarot decks but rarely do readings, since, as a member of Builders of the Adytum, I came to regard the cards (particularly the Major Arcana) as a meditative device. However, when I did do spreads, primarily for myself, I liked to use Alleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot, dangerous though that may have been!
- I have quite a few decks and the Voyager is one of my favorites, I'm also a listener of James Wanless' podcast. He's got such a great attitude. Some of my other favorite decks are: Fey Legends Cat People Mystic faerie Infinite Fantastical I could go one....
- My first deck was a gift. The Aquarian tarot. Not the best deck to learn with, but perhaps that's a good thing. I now use that deck only for Tarot spells. The deck that I use for readings is the Robin Wood deck. A friend did psychometry on my deck and declared that the deck was very happy (?!?).
