Learning to read tarot cards?

Recently, I have turned to pyschics to help me through the rough time my life is having now. Most recently though, the reader pulled a pyschic card for me. Not just once, but 3 times total in the reading. She said that I do have the ability, and I would be very good at it. I've honestly always though there was something different about me, and I've often thought I was way before this reading happened...it was just something I never looked into. What are the good and bad things about being able to read tarot cards? Is there anything I should look out for? Thanks! =)

1. first off, everyone as an intuitive ability. second i do not like to put tarot readers in the same category with psychics as readers are doing just that- reading. the cards and the client. i am a reader and this is being honest. i do not like being called psychic as i believe i am merely observant and pay attention to everything i notice thereby giving me a strong intuitive reasoning. being able to read the cards is an excellent way to help u use your intuitive abilities and get the most from what u notice. i hope i have not disappointed you or angered anyone else here as this is just my opinion..
2. I was told that i was psychic,everyone has psychic abilities it just depends on whether they use them or not.If you get an incline about something then your intuition will guide you through it,mine always does,hope thats helped
3. Everyone has inherent psychic abilities. We are born with it - as children, we are very sensitive and intuitive, but society and the mundane world teaches us to ignore this sense as we grow into adulthood. Therefore most people tend to "close the door" to this sense. Some remain very open throughout their lives. Others choose to continue to ignore it. And others choose to tap back into this sense and work on developing it again later in life. As far as tarot cards, you can read them and learn how to interpret them basically without your psychic senses, but it does help to work on developing your intuition and psychic abilities to become adept at interpreting readings. I'd say the only "bad" thing to being a tarot reader is that it is a misunderstood practice amongst some. It has nothing to do with evil spirits or the devil - but there are those that will tell you that. You need to understand that tarot is just a tool to help one take a look at their life and current situations from a different angle, perhaps an angle that the "seeker" was aware of but not willing to admit, or wasn't even considering at the time. In my experience, the cards don't lie, but they often don't tell me things that I don't already know somewhere deep down inside. They help you to access information that is already within you. (sometimes we get in our own way in our minds) Regarding what the cards say about "future" - it is merely what is most likely to happen if you stay on the exact same path you are on at the time of the reading. Nothing is set in stone - you are the creator of your own reality and the master of your own life. As far as what to look out for - just don't become too reliant on tarot (i.e. consulting the cards for every single problem or question you have) and don't base all of your decisions on tarot and forget how to think for yourself without the cards. Just keep in mind that you are in control of your life and only you can change anything you don't like about it. (and that sometimes all we can do to change something is change how we think and feel about it.) You always have choices. Other than that, they are a wonderful tool that can provide you with good insights and help you to learn more about yourself and your life. Enjoy! Blessings.
4. hello Pookie We all have psychic ability, it is natural & simply needs developing. I teach the tarot & have studied it for over 20 years & it is an excellent tool for psychic as well as personal development. The bad things about tarot will be yours & others misconceptions - the good things are many, too many to mention. 5. The good news is that I do believe that you are psychic. The bad news is that I believe that we all are. The cards are way for the universe to communicate with us in a clear way. Because we have been taught to not trust our intuition the cards give us a reflection in which to get a second opinion - even if ultimately it is our opinion :) It is like reading a road map once you figure out the symbols it is pretty easy to get around. Unlike a road the universe is not a static place, so while we can see tendencies and road blocks all things are possible. So the cards really function as a guide and a tool. There is nothing more mystical about them than reading a road map.
