- Years of experience and a feel for the esoteric
- read a book on it or on the back of the tarot card box duh
- There are several excellent books out there to get you started, but if you truly have a talent for it you will find yourself relying more and more on your own intuition.
- go buy a book at the book store. they'll list every card and their meaning.. but you should memorize the common ones... which ARE ALOT !
- my mum's friend is a tarot reader and she said to my mum "to be honest i just make it up. we all do. but dont tell anyone otherwise they wont pay us"
- Read a book and lots of practice.
- it could be inherited, y'know, like magic runs thru the family or summat like that. or you could learn from a book. or it could be summat you just do naturally. or, the most popular, u could fake it
- you usually get a book with the deck, try Waites and avoid Crowley, bit deep, you have to relate and feel and experience every card to know the true meaning of each and the relation of cards to each other, it takes years.
- First, start by being deluded. Second, find someone else who shares the delusion, but has been under its influence for longer.
- look it up in the internet
- Most tarot cards come with a book to help you understand what each card represents....http://www.angelfire.com/ca/tarot98/index.html Getting to understand the cards will help you understand the readings... Read the book look up info and practice!! Have fun
- There is usually a leaflet in the box of tarot cards. The shop you bought them in should also have books on the subject. Amazon. com would be a likely place to look for books on the internet. However I am sure you will find that as you go on and learn to read people better, watching their facial expressions and general demeanours you will find that you can tailor any old bullshit to fit in with the expectations and or desires of the gullible souls who have come to you to have their cards read. Don't forget to sell them a good luck charm or crystal while you're at it.
- First buy and pack of cards, play about with them for a while, say a couple of weeks, and decide if you are comfortable using them. If so you can teach yourself - search on the web.
- first you need to have your brain removed, then you need to be a good story teller!

- Many people will tell you that there are lots of esoteric meanings hidden within the tarot; and there are. However, step 1 is memorizing the basic meaning of the cards. So, either use the handy reference book included with most decks or buy a book and put your nose to the grindstone and start memorizing. Once you know the basic meaning of the cards some people say a pattern emerges during the reading and a more intuitive understanding of the cards emerges. As one gains more experience and understanding of the cards it is not uncommon to want to learn other symbolism associated to the cards (numerology, astrology, etc). It can be a bit overwhelming, so don't try to run before you can walk. Trust me when I say that becoming familiar with the basic meanings of the cards can be tricky enough without having to figure out the more esoteric associations. My friends and I used to say (very tongue in cheek) that having the book on hand when doing readings made it seem more "magical". :-)
