  1. tarot reading are BS just like the bible
  2. Maybe because tarot cards' only magic is from people making them true. She didn't think it would work so it didn't.
  3. when Edison was asked how many mistakes did he make in finding light . he said he made none . but he found a thousand ways that didnt work
  4. 1. you're reading straight from the book and not interpretting the cards for the reading. A rather cold and distant way to handle it but ya' gotta' learn somehow. 2. The answers are right but she doesn't know how to interpret them for herself. Such as the subject matter hasn't occurred yet, or she is absolutely not putting the links together. 3. She's lying to you? Tarot is not a divine end all of answers...it is just a tool used to give someone clarity in their life and perhaps give a direction to something where they are spinning in circles. Some people have amazing clarity when relaying the cards information to another, others have a mask in front of their eyes.
  5. You're probably either misunderstanding the meanings of the cards, mislaying the spread, or you just plain can't read tarot cards. Have you memorized the meanings, or read them from a book? You have to relate the meanings to the situations. Ask the cards a question, don't just lay them out and look at the meanings. You have to apply the meanings of the cards to the person or situation. It took me forever to memorize the cards, but once you fully understand them, and get a deck you're accustomed to, you should do fine.
  6. I'd say you're hardly old enough to understand the complexities of that art. Study more! Tarot isn't something you learn overnight.
  7. Only God knows all the answers. He is our Heavenly Father and loves us and wants us to learn to communicate with Him so we are not led astray by the devices of men and of Satan. As we do so, we will find truths for living by and happiness. So you and your sister should concentrate on developing that communication and not open yourselves up to deceit by utilizing other crafts. Jennie, Jennie, we are NOT told to not judge, we are told to not judge unrighteously. To judge righteously, one must have the facts. To be a hypocrite means to have the facts and not live accordingly. Here, I am rendering counsel to a child according to the facts that I have obtained knowledge of through my life's experiences. God has personally interacted with me and given me personal practical revelation for my circumstances in my life. He has told me how much He wants His children to return to Him. I know He lives, and loves me, as well as each one of you. I have also had interactions with Satan and know that he is real and desires to destroy us, and is very clever with his ploys to lead us away from keeping the promises that we made with God before we came to mortality. Unless we go directly to our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ for answers to our questions, we are opening ourselves to be led astray. We do not need cards, Ouija boards or other such crutches to be able to do this. All we need to do is communicate with Him as one person does with another, and He will give us an answer. We may not always like His answers or direction, and sometimes we think we know the best course to take in our lives, but His answers are always right and what is good for us. There have been times when I did not follow the directives that God has given me, and those decisions always led me into paths of sorrow, so it is not as if I did not have my freedom to choose whether to follow His counsel or not, it's just that He knew better and I had to learn the hard way. Believing has nothing to do with other people, who are always less than perfect and will always have some character fault to take issue with. If believing depended entirely upon how people behave in the name of what they believe, then I could not believe, either. But I don't just believe in God, I know.
  8. Hate to break it to you kid, but Tarot cards are a fraud along with astrology and the rest of that "psychic" nonsense.
  9. 1. Did you study the Tarot before you started the readings or jump right into it? Also why are you doing that at age 12? 2. Free will. If it is a future you are reading and someone says it is wrong, that is because something they did changed the outcome.
  10. If you are 12 you shouldn't be on Yahoo!Answers to begin with, but to answer the question you asked -- this could be for several reasons. 1) At age *ahem* 12 you would probably have very little experience using the Tarot. 2) Sometimes the readings take time to make sense -- after the fact -- I have had people come back to me and tell me that things they thought were BS later were accurate in hindsight. 3) Do you actually know the difference between reversed and upright meanings? (I don't generally use them, but I do know the difference) With time will come greater experience, and greater accuracy IF and ONLY IF you apply yourself to learning the meanings....
  11. Oh cinnamon cinnamon...don't go filling peoples heads with silly stuff from the "buy bull"! Don't judge other peoples religion when yours says your not supposed to judge others according to your "buy bull"! This is why I don't belive, cause christians are hypocrites!
  12. WOW! 12 years old and you have an interest in tarot! That is oustanding...seriously. At your age, I didn't even know what they were! I haven't been working with oracle cards for very long but they use the same principles as tarot..they're both known as divination tools. As I said, haven't worked with them for long but I have spent some years working closely with my guides and any readings I do ALWAYS involve them, especially my doctor teacher guide. There are a few things that I've learned that may help you. It's been very important for me to take at least a minute before I even touch the cards to center myself...I close my eyes and do at least three complete breathing cycles to clear away any stray thoughts and focus my mind entirely on receiving the messages. Then and only then do I ask for help from my guides, usually just one, and inform them how I would like to receive the information. I normally prefer a single card draw, (partly because I am not a pro at this) from the top. I shuffle them until I "feel" it's enough and lay them down. (I always make sure that I have a good idea of what I am asking help with - making clear about a situation - before I even begin.) I've found that this preparation is a key and very important. What I would suggest is maybe, as you're learning, do readings for only yourself...at least until you feel more comfortable with your deck and the messages you're receiving. That way, you'll slowly learn what aspects of the overall explanation of the card really apply to your situation. You know what goes on in your life and what happens so you'll have something to compare your reading with. With a bit of practice, you'll begin to get a feel for what the real message is and what isn't important. It's kind of you to want to read for others like your sister but it can also cause you to doubt yourself and abilities. Think about taking some time to get used to your deck and understand how you make sense of the messages...not everybody gets them in exactly the same way. As you know already, to become good at it, you need to practice and continue to learn. Try not to get discouraged and keep yourself motivated. If this is something that you "feel" inside, please take the time to get a good foundation to work from. It may take some time for you to get accurate but allow yourself that time and give yourself the same patience and understanding that you would a good friend, who was doing the same thing.
  13. Try not to think of Tarot as supplying the answers, only the means of finding your way to them :-) It can take a fair bit of study and practice before what you see in the cards makes sense - the meanings for each card are multi-layered and vary according to context. In addition to this, successful interpretation for others has a lot to do with being able to put yourself in their place, understand their issues and read the cards "through their eyes" - you need life experience to be able to do that :-) Why don't you try letting your sister look at the cards herself and tell you what she thinks they mean from the images, then you can add what you know rather than trying to replace what she knows. Most people hold the answers to their problems themselves but often just can't see them - Tarot can provide a tool to help them see more clearly (which is what "clairvoyant" means). I would suggest that you visit Joan Bunning's website www.learntarot.com and take advantage of the excellent free course tou can download from there, but don't expect to learn it all overnight. To all the nay-sayers - We all have our preferred method of trying to make sense of life, who are you to say yours is the right or only way? If you want to use the bible (or any other book), consult a psychiatrist or just talk to a friend, that is your prerogative. If this girl wants to use a pack of cards that may help her to make sense of it, that is hers. If you can't say anything helpful, why say anything at all.
  14. Probably because you need more experience interpreting the cards. Just reading from the "answer book" isn't going to work -- it just takes a lot of experience and study. By "study", I mean reading about Tarot and seeing how other readers interpret their spreads.
