I feel like I am spiritually gifted. How can I get good at interpreting tarot readings?
I just can't seem to memorize a card or see a pattern out of them. How do other people learn these?

- Just lie and pretend. It's all pretend anyway.
- Well they say practice makes perfect. Keep practicing on your friends.
- that is not the right gift you need open. the right gifts to be praying for are the ones written in the bible by the Holy Spirit. Why dabble in the occult, when its author will only use and abuse, and spit you out.
- If tarot doesn't work for you try another form of divination. There are a lot out there. A friend of mine couldn't read cards at all, but was very good at scrying. Otherwise, just keep trying. It takes time.
- Don't waste yourself on tarot cards. That stuff is pure BS.
- Practice. Practice. Practice. I've been reading cards for a few years, and I am always learning something new. I am usually able to interpret the cards pretty well, but I am far from being an expert. I'd start with a very good basic book. "Learning The Tarot" by Joan Bunning is probably one of my very favorites. She's got a lot of exercises to help you see what the cards are trying to say and different charts to help you memorize the card meanings or look for the intuitive meanings yourself. There are numerous books, but hers really is one of the very best. Her website: http://www.learntarot.com/ I'd also try different decks out to see which ones respond to you best. Once you have one that really intuitively feels right, it can make all the difference in the world. I just couldn't quite get coherent results with my readings until I found the right deck. I use Crowley's Thoth tarot deck. It takes a lot of dedication and practice to really make it cohesive, but it's really fun and worthwhile. You might want to also see if your local metaphysical/occult store runs a tarot class. A lot of them do.
- Switch to the Bible - it's far more vague, and easier to interpret in a way which fits your agenda...
- do not do it. be happy that you are spiritual.
- Well now... this is my favorite kind of question! First of all your mistake is trying to memorize anything, use your intuition, meditate on each card for a week per card, when you do your meditation find a spot in the card to pull you in, the card will tell you what it means. Remember your intuition is the key, the cards are just tools. Each reading is going to be different for each person and each card is going to tell you something different for each person. Trust yourself, trust your feeling and trust that you know when the divine is speaking to/through you. Sometimes it help to call in certian gods or angels and ancestors to help guid you but I recomend opening a circle to protect yourself and your cards. Also find a deck that resonates with you.
- I will tell you a secret many of them "use." They go out into the world and live on their own and one day they find themselves without a job. With the rent coming due, the utility bills all coming due, the children to feed, the car needs gas, and your stomach is rumbling, you'd be AMAZED at what you can see in those CARDS........especially if someone is willing to PAY you to tell them what they want to HEAR......., the bigger the story, the bigger the PAY.....
- If your spiritually gifted. Why do you need to learn how to read tarot cards? I guess your not as spiritually gifted , as you may think. Tatrot card reading, is not a gift. Its a way of just guessing. they don't mean nothing. Tarot card reading. Don't mean you can tell ones future. What happens is the person starts beleiving, in what you say to be true. When all it does. Is give the false truth, about themself.
- Practice makes perfect, as the saying goes. First, you need to find a deck that feels right for you. If you don't like the deck, the more difficult it will be to read the cards. Second, don't try to memorize them. Use your heart, not your head. Meditate on each card individually untill you feel like you understand its meaning. Books can give you basic ideas about a card's meaning, but meditation provides a much deeper understanding of the cards. If you find that cards are simply not your style, then there are many other forms of divination to experiment with, such as runes or scrying. Not everyone is suited to the same form of divination. Find the form that's right for you and practice, practice, practice.
- I made up a graph of all the minor arcana cards with a word or phase to help me remember the theme of each card. I would be happy to email you a copy. I also recommend studying up on themes of numbers and suits. The theme of a particular suit or meanings of numbers can help jog your memory. Another thing is to work with your deck alot and study the pictures...while it is nice to be able to know the cards well enough to read from any deck anywhere this is just not necessarily feasible in reality without alot of study time. Best wishes and Fairy Blessings!
