Is it possible to do your own Tarot readings?
I just began studying Tarot and was wondering is it possible to ask the cards a question or must you have another person do it for you? Will it bring any different results? 'do it for you' meaning I need another reader present to read my questions.

- yes and it works!
- if u got the cards and the know how
- I do my own all the time. I think it works better. How can someone else do it for you?
- Yes, it is quite possible to do a reading for yourself, but please be aware that you may inadvertently read the cards only as you'd like the result to be. Please try to be objective when reading for yourself or anyone else. Have a lovely rest of the day and have a lovely 4th of July.
- you can read them for yourself
- Better to let talented others do the reading...sometimes what's seen has to be conveyed to you with discretion. Doing your own readings comes with a certain bias.
- forget about cards, you are your own tarot cards; trust your capacities;trust your courage and be faithful in all what is and will be good in your life then you will get any thing you want and pave your way by your hands instead of believing in stupid cards
- I do my own readings. I read my own runes too
- Please be careful! Tarot Cards are of the devil and he is a liar! He will gladly enter your life through these cards, whether you are alone or with someone else. When you read these cards or have them read, you are opening the door to evil in your life. Try reading your Bible instead and allow blessing instead.
- as long as you know how
- Yes you can do your own
- ya why not
- yep- i do mine all the time.
- I got the cards and a book to read them with. It isn't that hard. I must have been good at it because lots of people bought me free drinks.
- I dont know but i can read runes.
- I think you that you just need to know what your doing...
- It is possible, but you have to be aware that it is often hard to be objective when you read your own cards simply because you are too close to the situation. If I do read for myself I only draw 1 or 2 cards, and ask very specific questions. Anything more involved and you are better having someone (who you don't necessarily know) read for you. (or go to www.tarot.com) .
- Yes it goes by the energy of the person who shuffles the cards so if you shuffle them focus your mind on what you want to know then the reading is for you. Good Luck Love & Blessings Milly
- Yes. In doing Tarot card readings for other people, one needs to have that person to focus their intent as the cards are being shuffled. You can just do this yourself for your own questions.
- Absolutely you can do a ready on yourself! Try keeping a journal though, and make sure you're not emotional when you are shuffling the cards. If you have a specific question in mind, make sure there are no distractions in the room, and be certain to focus solely on the question. Keeping a journal of the cards that you laid out and the question asked, will help you refer back to the reading later on, when you want to clarify a particular point of the question you asked.
- Serena and Carrie have very good ideas. I've also done many years of readings, often for myself. My readings for myself differred greatly from those I did for others. Since I know my background, I didn't do the entire "tree" for a question for me unless it was a very complicated situation or I didn't know what was bothering me. I would generally start the day shuffling and cutting the deck once, record the exposed card in a journal, then see how that card reflected the events of the day. I also journaled my questions, limiting myself to 1 or 2 per day, very focused, and using only a very tight setup of "crossing", "future", and "fear" cards. I then journaled the response cards, and anything that happened later on that related to the reading. I don't often use the cards now, since I have found other, easier ways to make contact with the knowledge I need, but I still get them out once in a while when I "get stuck" and they work just fine for me. Good luck with your readings.
- yes my sister know how to do it, i try to learn to read or study tarot and it is very difficult for me put there is people that know what do do if not maybe at school you can take a course good luck
- Yes, just buy a Tarot Deck with instructions. Thats how I learned to do my own.
- Yes you can do a reading for yourself or even for someone else that is not present. For some people tho, they are not able to see (read) for themselves right off. It takes time. The results should be the same wether you do it or not your self. Just as the answers as well should be the same.
