Is it UnChristian to read Yahoo Astrology Horoscopes?
Public Comments
- yes, disobeys first commandment
- It is retarded but not heretical
- Maybe...
- Do you believe what you read there and run your life by it?
- NO
- no. you can do anything you want. christians will forgive you (they say)
- First Commandment?? Reading horoscopes doesn't mean you're worshipping another God!! I don't think it's "UnChristian", whatever you want that to mean, but Yahoo Horoscopes are rubbish anyway.
- If it is, then you'd have a hard time arguing against anything that doesn't espouse Christianity, since you can't read them without being anti-Christian. That's not particularly intelligent.
- Yes. The fact that you are asking appears to be conviction in your heart. Just repent and sin no more. Deuteronomy 18:9-14
- Yes, your Hanged God will Damn your soul to Eternal Torment for reading horoscopes.
- oh cmon... its all in good fun, unless you worship your horoscope above God, whats the harm in seeing what it says once in a while.
- Yes, it goes against the First Commandment. From the CCC: All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to "unveil" the future. Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.
- Yes. Divination is considered taboo in Christianity. None-the-less, it doesn't stop people from going to psychics, tarot readers or spiritual mediums for advice. All of these people would probably come under the catch all "witch" category which should allegedly not be suffered to live. Note: yes I know it was originally poisoner, not witch. I'm just going with the current "rules".
- Not if you just read them for entertainment.
- Whats the difference??
- I don't because God tells us to avoid things of that nature. But I wouldn't judge someone who did it. But for my own personal walk in God, I just don't read em'. God bless!
- Not if your just reading. This may not be the best thing to read but all reading is to a certain extent learning material. I am religious but I am sure if you are a godly person be it christian, Jewish or muslim it must be unethical and for sure forbidden to believe tha a human being can have power to tell you what will happen. As a religious person you are to believe that those who write hororscope are trying to defeat the power of God. But reading for the fun of it surely is ok.
- Yes. it's just crap!
- yes!!
- Dear Ivy, It is sin to read the horoscopes. This is what God says in Isaiah 47:11-14, "Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know. Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail. Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it." These are not my words but the words of God Almighty. Sin is rebellion against God. Pray to the Lord for mercy.
