Why do more women than men believe in the paranormal?

When it comes to paranormal and certain spiritual things, like ESP, past lives, healing energy, etc., it seems like many more women than men believe. Do you agree, and (if so) why do you think that is?

5. Yeah, I suppose as far as 'spirituality' (aka new age) stuff goes this is true. But there are a hell of a lot of men who mainstream religious fanatics. Maybe it is just an empowerment thing. Not to mention their is Wiccans who believe in goddess worship. Naturally that would appeal more to women.

8. What you are saying is correct. More women than men believe in paranormal and other like things. Because men have strong faith and confidence in their physical strength. Women are lacking in this. So psycologically they need something to hang on. some power, though imaginary, which is more potent the muscle power of the men. They believe what they want to be true.
9. I believe that it is largely due to the fact that men have to focus on what they are doing to provide an income for their families. If they were free of that burden, they would be better able to explore their spiritual side as well. Women have also been given the gift of intuition to protect their young, so they are more in tune with that side of things. Men don't generally have that intuition developed as it has been the responsibility of women to raise the children in times past.
10. Yes they are more spiritually sensitive. Some of their sensitivity is just being open to other peoples feelings, more women live by what they feel, men don't do this as a rule. Secondly, they can be deceived easier and fall into the hocus pocus of much of the paranormal. Not all women go there, but too many do.
11. Women tend to be more open-minded and less stubborn than men. My dad is serious proof of that.
12. Well because women are a bit more open minded than most men (dating back to the slave days when some Euro women would fall for one of their slaves, they were less prejudice than the men). Not to mention they are more in tune with their emotions.
13. Men's brains tend to work differently than a woman's. Women seem to have a greater intuition factor and sensitivity to all things. It's simply far easier for our minds to feel things and to consider the possibility of unproven things. For a man if they can not see it or if it's not prooven they can not usually accept it. Where this came from I don't know but perhaps it has something to do with motherhood and the necessity to "connect" with our offspring.
