  1. Ummm one time I was throwing up and the elders showed up and gave me a blessing. I was fine the next day. DAMN THOSE ELDERS! I wanted to skip school! Anyway - just a note from the official apostate on R&S!
  2. One timez I wuz on sum LDS, and I sawz ranebowz colord heffelumps. Brots tearz to meh eyez.
  3. I've had many prayers that were answered. Sometimes it was just something small and other times it was something big. I've felt the spirit so strong before while praying that I was literally shaking, and I felt so happy. Other times the answer was small like when God simply fixed my car the second I said "amen".
  4. Just the other day, I was soooo sick I could not move but had to get up and go to work. There was a need and a purpose for a miracle. My husband who holds the Priesthood gave me a special blessing and I was healed right there and then. I heard the words, "Get up and Walk!" I got up and as I did so I felt a rushing warmth down my legs, through me bowels, lungs, head. All that was wrong and sick in me was instantly gone. I was grateful because it was a very important day and I appreciated that God knew I needed a miracle that day. My daughter at BYUI called home from the hospital and had been taken there with seriously high blood sugar. Her home teacher, the man in the congregation who watches over her, came with his roommate, lay his hands on her head and blessed her that she would be healed and her blood sugar come down. My daughter is an extremely resistant diabetic. But within minutes her sugars returned to normal. It was a miracle that she needed because she was scared and in an unfamiliar place AND had to teach a Sunday School lesson the next day. There, two of the MANY daily miracles and tender mercies of God in my life because of Priesthood power!
  5. My husband and I recieved a strong impression while in the temple that it was time for him to return to school full-time. But he had a good job at the time that prevented us from getting financial aid, but not good enough to pay for school out of pocket. We took a leap of faith, he left his job and we moved to Idaho to go to school full-time. In a matter of weeks, we had a gorgeous apartment that was very cheap, he had a job at the school that worked around his classes and gave him 6 free credit hours a semester, and he recieved enough scholarships to see us through our first year. Now that we have been poor students for a year, we are also eligible for grants and such. After we got up here to school, we had lousy insurance and two children already, making it hard to make ends meet even with all the blessings. Then we get another strong impression, that it is time to have another child. We did, we're ecstatic that she's here, and once again, all of our needs are always met, whether it's unexpected help from church, friends, family, school or job.
  6. After taking several tests, I was diagnosed with Cardio Myopathy. There is no cure. It is a gradual enlargement and weakening of the heart. I was then given a blessing by a modern day apostle of the LDS church. It is rare to meet one, but he happened to be visiting our church conference. The improvement in my health over the next month was steady and obvious. I went to a second doctor and he had me take the same tests again. They came up negative. When I returned to the original doctors office a couple of years later, the doctor was skeptical and had me run the tests again. Still negative. That was almost eight years ago. I still feel fine.
  7. I'm sure the Christians here, along with every other religious group, could cite similar experiences. There's no evidence that the prayers of any particular faith work better than another, or even work at all. Whatever makes you happy, though!
  8. I have many prayers answered that have helped me in some of the most difficult decision in my life. I have also seen some priesthood blessings answered. For an example there was a girl in my ward and she has lupus and doing a presithood blessing it said that she would able to have children and today she has at least one child. There is another women in my ward and she has had heart problems and was waiting in line for a heart transplant and wanted to see her young children and to raise them. She was given a priesthood blessing and it turns out she wen to the doctor of an appointment one day and it turns out that her heart and got stronger and she does not have to have a heart transplant for forty years. I am also seen priesthood blessings even work in my own family. Those are just some to name a few.
