What is the purpose of Miracles?
Many today seem to believe that prayer should entitle them to miraculously healing and that healing is for the purpose of preserving thier physical well-being, but is that what Christ really taught? It is notable that every person healed by Christ eventually died, so what was the purpose of raising Lazzarus from the dead if he later died again? I believe physical healing was and is always used for a spiritual need. Anybody have evidence to the contrary? If you disagree, then tell me what is the purpose of Miracles if not for spiritual needs?

- To hallucinate miracles.
- miracles are just another way God proves his infinite power and proves that we humans have no control over anything, but God does.
- To show that God IS as well as show the Power of God.
- It is to show God's power and bring glory to God. In Jesus Name
- Miracles are done to increase faith or in answer to fervent prayer but, yes your right for the most part we are to pick up our cross and follow him who was crowned King of those who suffer by his crown of thorns. As a member of the Body of Christ we can do no less than suffer with him as he suffers with us.
- T he miracles were a trick used by the by the makers of religious scripturs to impute a character of divinity to the person whomhey wan the ignorant masses to worship. Miracles has ner happened and would ner happen. anything is a mircle as long as people do not understand what it is .
- i believe that when god heals someone; they are always healed. death is not forever. if you believe that we are saved by christ; HIS word sayshat we can have eternal life in heaven (john3:16) meaning our spirits live forever. out bodies pass to dust but...god never messes up by healing someone one day & taking them to heaven the next. theres always a purpose to everything he does....somewhere somehow, that healing for lazzarus changed others lives & thier faith in god forever. miracles are prevalent everywhere u look. could any of us be here without gods mercy & power? hope ur encouraged in some way....if nt feel free to email me again. until then...take good care L
- God being compassionate. Matthew 14:14 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
- I agree. The spiritual need has always been a far greater concern for God than our physical or temporal needs. The physical "miracle" is secondary to our conversion. In the particular example of Lazzarus, he was trying to prove he was indeed the Messiah. Unfortunately the only way Jesus could prove himself as the chosen one, was to perform these miracles, along with his teachings. (Proving time and time again that we are slow and un-trusting sheep that must be lead). And a strong faith does not guarantee us to any physical miracles. Our faith is for our ultimate salvation, and is not like earning tickets for miracles to be dispensed anytime our lives fall apart.
- am struggling with this issue too.Can anyone name somebody who has been healed by any man of God of today[of schizophrenia/mental ill heath]NOT HEARSAYS.do you know somebody?
- The Holy spirit is the power behind every genuine miracle. Miracles are either signs, gifts, or both. Always have been. Always will be.
- The purpose of Miracles are so that you may believe and have life in Jesus's name. What we draw from the miracles is that Jesus is "the Christ," the Messiah, "the Son of God." In the OT, God used several prophets by working through them to actually convince the christian people that he was the All Mighty Powerful God. He proclaimed his people and used prophets to free them and bring them into a new land and gave them a new covenant each time.
