Why do people assume that one is a Christian just because one asks a question in this genre (spirtuality)?

I asked a question regarding why did I get cancer and it seemed to attract many Christians to answer. I appreciate and accept their offers of prayers, but I didn't need a diatribe about the Christian bible! Are there not other spiritual people or were they chased away by the Christians? BTW, the cancer started in my colon and spread to my liver. I am 44 and a Believer; I believe many things (including that I will be cured), not necessarily what some others believe. I suppose I might even be considered a Pagan (and thus evil but I don't really much care.) I question the assumption, not the faith. My faith begins with "First do ye no harm." Blessed be, my friends, and thanks for the prayers. I offer mine in return especially, to those also afflicted with cancer. I trust that prayers and good wishes play as big a part in healing as a positive attitude and wise doctors. I've been blessed with all 3.

1. People assume that everyone is a Christian. Unless it's an election year; then Christians are suddenly an oppressed minority. I wish you well and am glad to see you have a positive attitude.
2. This cathogery is called "Religion and Spirituality". Now, Christianity is the biggest religion in the world, so it is very likely most people here are Christians. Maybe Yahoo should have a "Christianity Only" cathogery? Anyhow I hope you will get well from your cancer. I had cancer myself and am now working fulltime again. A friend of mine had colon cancer that spread to the liver but he has now been working and is active for maybe 7 or 8 years. But it was a tough way to that with chemotherapy and surgery. Besides he did eat lots of stuff like sprouted mungbeans, carrot juice etc.
3. The topic is called religion and spirituality. Anyone can post or respond in the catergory. If you look at the list of questions there are many that focus on all different religions not just Christianity. For example. what do you want for breakfast... Thats not a religious question. You shouldnt assume that everyone who posts is christian. I have read other answers to questions were people of different faiths give examples from their own religion. Dont put down Christians that give you a reference to search. Its just a suggestion and they were probaby just trying to help.
4. i'm praying for you in your recovery...i'm not going to preach to you...you're obviously very intelligent and i'm sure you can get your hands on a bible...there is more in that book than just preaching, there are some truly beautiful passages in psalms, ecclesiastes, song of songs...in any case, you have my best wishes for a full recovery and a long and happy life
5. As someone who has done this, I will expalin my reasons for you. First off, as a Christian, we assume when anyone talks about spirituality, they are referring to Christianity, because we know that to be true. Also, this country was founded on Christian principles , no matter what others NOW try to tell us. It was and we know it. And, when people talked about Spirituality, it was Chrisianity. Nowadays, its not that way. So, we of the old school and of the school that Christianity is the only true faith, that Jesus is God, thats our line of thinking, and its easy to forget that others are on other pages within their own beliefs of spirituality. And, its all good. Because we each have a right what we believe in and who we serve. Even God of the Bible gives us free choice. and from your statements, you have a false belief in Christianity and I truly understand why. You are forgiven, but we pray you change your mind. Just because ppl use the term CHRISTIAN, doesnt mean they are. First off the devil puts ppl out there to do his work, and they use that label and give others the false impression of Christains, pretty wiley, huh? noone said the devil was stupid. Also, many ppl are believers and truly love God, but they misinterpret so many things,due to backgrounds, past beliefs, whatever, and so and say many things that arent of God, and often without even knowing or understanding it. SO, ppl see them and say, boy those Christians are phoney No, ppl trying to be Christians or pretending to be Chrisitains do those things. we cant judge, only God knows. BUt, dont lump us into a group because of what you see many do. A Christian that understands Gods word knows that our covenant with God is to first love God as He loves us and to love others as He loves them.. and yes, we are to love ourselves as He loves us, to be affective in showing the world what Jesus can do for us. And, yes the Bible says Jesus is God, and so is the Holy SPirit. SO, when you see someone doing unkind things, etc, remember, God says by their fruits ACTIONS, we will know them... they arent christians.... you say you first motto is to not hurt anyone. Well, a Christians first motto is to love and obey God , and to not hurt anyone either. But, sometimes when we tell you what God says, you get angry and mad and say we hurt you. No, we are only giving you the truths Gods tells us to give you, because He loves you and so do we , and we want you saved. SO instead of resenting our prayers, cant you just thank us, and you can still choose to believe or not believe. But, why be angry about it. Yes a positive attitude helps in healing. positive confessions does too, only if you have faith and loyalty to Jesus Christ. Faith still moves mountains today, and we need to tell you all that, but surely your choice not to believe. And, if you think the other religions can come on and express their beliefs on Yahoo, then please give the Christiians that same right. What we as Christians are seeing and wont tolerate... is that ppl of so many religions are allowed to preach hatred, intolerance and push their religion or lack of one. But, Chrisitians are the one group told to be silent. Whats up with this? devil really good at doing what he can to deceive , huh? I have lost many to cancer in my family. and I have also seen many miracles. YOu can have a miracle today too, run to Jesus. repent, turn from sins, and allow Him to heal and deliver you. and instead of being mad, think, what if I am right? what do you have to lose? I have been a serious Bible student for years, and I can tell you, without Jesus, we have nothing at all. I am so sorry you are sick, and I will pray for you. But, we must choose Jesus before we die, or He returns again. Please at least give this some thought and pray and ask God to show He is real to you, that Jesus is real. God says there is no other way to heaven,but thru Jesus. What have you got to lose to study and pray, and Just ask GOd to show you the truth. Dont give up. God is thre, still waiting right now , even. and dont resent me for writing to you. we must forgive all to be saved. God is love. and so are His ppl to be God bless you man in you search for love, peace, healing, and Jesus, even tho you dont yet know it. Many do at the last minute. I have even experienced His actual touch, tho I never saw Him. and buddy, the peace entered the room like I cant even tell you about. warmth, love, joy, peace, all of it. He e told me my son that had cancer and was dying would not have pain, as the docs had predicted horrid non stop pain, and guess what, he never even had an asprin. two surguries and eleven months of treatment..
