Fortune teller and lack of iron?
Okay, well it sounds creepy but my mom won this thing to go see a free fortune teller, and she went today. Apparently the guy told her I am going to get a blood test and find out I have lack of iron, and then will be put on pills. Can anyone explain this to me? How accurate is this man? How long will I be on the pills for? Will they make me gain or loose weight? What is this called? Would this explain why I usually have no energy and feel very tired? THANKS A LOT :) I'm gessing I have 'anaemia' ?

- Fortune telling is a bunch of garbage, he probably just made an educated guess, by information he got out of your mom. Don't let this guy get in your head, just go get a physical, your low energy could be your diet or maybe a lack of good sleep or a lot of things.
- Fortune telling uses a technique called cold reading. I'm not too knowlegeable about how everything works but it pretty much feeds some information to the person and observes their reactions. Reading things like their body language, tone of voice etc etc they can direct their observations towards what the person wants to hear then they add some advice from knowledge thay had aquired through experience. I was not at your moms reading but I can imagine it went something like thise. medium: I see that a family member has some health issues or some issues of some sort. your mom: why yes my daughther. medium she is feeling not as healthy and is exhibiting lack of energy letahrgic blah blah blah. I won't keep adding but what has happened here is that the medium poses a very common situation which is the sickness of a family member or friend. There is always someone you know who has a health issue, is on drugs or is having some difficulties in life.m This is an extremely common thing. If its not a family member then is a friend which can be considered a family member. You mon indicates that it is you which tells the medium to continue that line of thinking. Had your mom indicated in any way that this is not the issue he/she would had changed the topic to something else. Anyways, the medium would suggest that you are feeling tired and various other symptoms. Well, every time you are sick you always feel a lack of energy. Ofcourse your mom adds to this giving some description. At this point the medium may have had some experience with a similar situation which required x or y medication. In your case lack of iron so he just adds his 2 cents on the matter. Bottom line is of you are sick go see the doctor. Mediums psychics etc etc are just for entertainment. They do not posses any magical powers and are definetly not qualified to give any medical advice. All they know is a bunch of parlor tricks. The slight of hands and play on words. Nothing else.
- Well there are two types of fortune tellers: the quacks and the real ones. Now I have no way of distinguishing the two but I do believe that some people have a special ability to see beyond sensory perception. In this case I base my assumption on the experience that a relative of mine had. The person went to see a fortune teller who predicted with frightening accuracy that persons future. By this I mean details that when put together are more than coincidence. However as I mentioned above No one can say what the truth is. However if you lack energy it's usually because of the liver. And one can easily assume from that point that you need more iron so in your case I believe the guy made an educated guess based on what your mother told him. Don't worry to much and do go see a doctor.
