- Don't believe everything you hear on tv (; Directly speaking, these naysayers and doomsday folks have been saying that from the beginning of time. I have never ever lost a wink of sleep over it... PS: I am an avid THC viewer and would love to know the name of it. ~~
- the world will end surely as the Bible says so... in HIS time
- DUDE THATS RETARDED IF THEY KNEW THE WORLD WAS GONNA END IN LIKE WHAT 4 YEARS THEN EVRYBODY WOULD GO CRAZY AND NO ONE WOULD WORK OR ANYTHING SO THAT PROVES ITS NOT TRUE OR THAT NOBODY BELIVES IN THAT SHI........CRAP
- it ALL depends on how the world acts, at the rate we are going now, it probably will happen
- but if it doesn't end what then? i have other things like that but it was about y2k. it's just gibberish so don't pay attention to them ok?
- Since none of these sources are credible....what's the worry?
- remember back in the 90s when all sorts of documentary's said the same thing about the year 2000? Gosh, i could't even sleep after watching those, i would cry ( i was a kid) Nothing happend.
- The world will not end when some most probably biased and wrong interpretation to an obscure notion from astrology says so. The History Channel is not known for having the best and most current state of the art research in their programs. Like all other media outlets, it's more important to sell than to be accurate. For example, I'll bet you the program said a lot of nonesense related to the Mayan Calendar. The Mayans predicted the end of the world somewhere 50K years from now, and the only relevant issue is that somewhere on that time, according to the Mayan calendar, a long cycle of 400 years will end. Nothing really earth-shaking, although the Mayans would have argued that major changes would happen at that time. But the date is not even accurate, either. When the world does end, NO ONE will see it coming. So you have 2 choices: start stockpiling canned food in the middle of a specialized bunker-shelter in the mountains for a yet unknown event or just live life and enjoy it. I recommend the second.
- That is only someone's opinion based upon the "evidence" they chose to use. Centuries ago, it was believed that the world would end 1000 years after the birth of Christ. People who want to prove something can often find a way to do so but they often rely on "evidence" that others might disregard and interpret it according to their own beliefs. As an example, there was a man who trained a tarantula to obey his voice. He would say: "Come forward" or "move backwards" and the tarantula would do as he commanded. One day, his little boy, in a fit of temper, tore off all the spider's legs. When the man commanded the tarantula to "come forward," it did not move. The man deduced from this that tearing off the tarantula's legs had made it deaf! This tale may be apochryphal but it is a valid example of how information may be misinterpreted.
- Well. I believe in Christ and in the bible. so i mean if you believe in Christ too. then you shouldn't believe everything you hear. i remember one day i was at school and we got on this website called peteranswers. and i guess its supposed to be this physic. but anyways. this kid asked the question "who's sitting next to me?" well the physic. knew the answer. so then the kid had the nerve to ask "when will i die" and it replied tomorrow i saw him the day after. tomorrow. and he was still perfectly fine. ONLY GOD KNOWS WHEN WE'LL GO.
- These stories go around all the time. The history of predicting the end of history is interesting, but tells us more about human psychology and the constant rules of charlatanism than much else. In fact, the Seventh Day Adventist church is built on it, and this was just a survivor of many similar churches of the time. And guess what... God is just another example, only more enduring. It's a measure of how sad, pathetic and pseudo-intellectual the History Channel is, and how dumb we Westerners have become.
- So we have got time to get the London Olympics out of the way first (LOL) On the other hand it would seem to be a bad moment to be taking out Life Insurance.
