Tarot cards and god..?

k today i bought a pack of tarot cards, but see these are Celtic messages ones, they're suppost to be no negative cards because the celtic people knew that there was bad times but they kept it positive because they knew things would always get better or something. anyways, i used them a few times and just asked random questions like whats my day going to be like tomorrow, or is the next year going to be hard, it basicly just said changes and expressing my feelings. anyways, im feeling guilty, im worried god wont be pleased with me? i love god and everything but i want to look into this kind of stuff because it intrests me.. not anything like bad just horoscopes and stuff. so if i did this would god be mad? should i stop now? i feel guilty.

  1. you shouldnt feel bad. new experiences give you a more interesting life. also, cant you pray to jesus and be forgiven? lol
  2. Which god? I'm assuming Christian, but that is an assumption. People will tell you that you're inviting demons in by allowing them into your life. This is BS. If God was mad at them he would have done something about them in the couple thousand years people have been using Tarot cards. If you feeling guilty, I recommend locating the source of that guilt, and dealing with that. The cards are just a focus, and who knows what else that guilt will try to deny you next.
  3. Nope. Yer going to Hell. Seriously though, if you feel guilt then stop. The guilt is from doing something that good Christians are told not to do.
  4. a) God would prefer that you stop b) He's not mad about, just a little frown c) He wants to be closer to you, mysticism can lead you astray
  5. When I was younger I was constantly trying to find the truth in religious writings and such but now I feel that I am the one who knows best what my "god" is all about...see, to me the Higher Powers are the Universe(God) and the Earth (the goddess) these are more abstract than anything, but I do hold myself to a regimen of morality which only my own conscience dictates. Next, I believe the tarot are not to be in the realm of religion; they are more akin to psychological/psychic areas of life. In not too many years we will see things explained away by science which were thought to be magic. The way our minds send and receive as well as save data will be explored. This in turn will open m,inds and the next phase in evilution will begin- the age of mind-power!!! Just keep reading your cards and exploring the limitless possibilities. Email me if you want to exchange observations about Tarot.I use the Cosmic and Dragon decks but my bf is of Celtic ancestry so I am curious about the cards.
  6. As a general rule, it is probably a good idea to stay away from forms of divination. You are young, impressionable, and you could open up spiritual channels that could harm you. I have studied the Tarot for a long time because I am very fascinated by the archetypes and symbolism that are presented in the cards (I use the Rider-Waite Deck). I don't use the cards for fortunetelling. I was curious too, when I was your age. But I got ensnared by some of the things I tried and I have paid a great price for that. Better to be cautious with the Occult. That's my advice.
  7. Yes God does not condone this kind of practice. Yes he would be very angry! Such practices (Such spiritistic practices actually involved turning to Satan and his demons for help. No wonder it was "bad in Jehovah's eyes." and he brought severe punishment upon Manasseh for it. But when he repented and gave up these bad practices, he was blessed by Jehovah God.) 2 Kings 21:6. Please read these other scriptures: Isa 8:19; Lev. 19:31. Also read Deut. 18:10-12; Acts 16:16-18.
  8. Hello Regardless of the type of tarot they are, they will not be evil. Evil is a state of mind. You are not doing anything wrong by exploring your spirituality, you are being true to yourself, which is a valuable tool to have through life. Tarot are a wonderful tool for guidance, insight, meditation, psychic as well as personal development. Sadhara
  9. First and foremost....you do what is right for you, if you are not comfortable with tarot than you don't have to do it...I really think that you would benefit from talking to other readers about how they came to tarot, and their first reactions to it. I had some of the same feelings that you do when I began and then I met readers and realized that there were allot of decent people that also happened to read tarot cards. You can go here and talk to very good and experienced readers that may be able to help you decide if tarot is right for you: http://www.tarotforum.net/ Good Luck
