If my opponent plays heavy storm during his turn can i chain a set mystical space typhoon to destroy his heavy

Storm?? This is one of the yugioh scenarios that i want to have resolved. storm? In addition what cards if any will negate and destroy the heavy storm? Thank you Brandon L for the clarification.

1. yes.because mystical space typhoon is a quick play spell and quick play spells allow you to play them whenever you want.
2. yes you can and try to get the trap card where you can neglat a trap or spell card and destroy it
3. Mystical Space Typhoon DESTROYS not NEGATES. Chaining "Mystical Space Typhoon" or "Dust Tornado" to a card like "Raigeki" (or another Normal Spell or Normal Trap Card, or a Quick-Play or Ritual Spell Card) has no effect on gameplay, as it does not negate the card's effect. So this is what would happen Heavy Storm destroys everything. MST does nothing bcuz it does not negate, so it doesn't matter whether you activated MST or not, all spell and traps are being destroyed. A lot of card can negate it: Solemn Judgment, Dark Bribe, Cursed seal of the forbidden spell, Gladiator beast Heraklinos, Spell Shield Type-8, Magic Drain, etc.
4. Technically, Mst can destroy heavy storm but will not negate it. Cards that will negate it is Dark bribe, solemn judgment, magic drain, magic jammer.
5. yes. in the rulebook, it talks about spell speeds which i didnt really pay attention to until yesterday. mystical space typhoon will be able to destroy it, and any other quickplay spell card or trap card will be able to destroy it, too. counter traps can't be destroyed in a chain, either.
