can anyone give me detailed information on reading tarot cards and what they are?

im really interested in what they are and what they do. ive read up on them on the internet and google but i still dnt quite understand. does anybody read them and can you help me. i know that the cards can mean differnet interpretaions and it takes a long time to master it. are there a set number of cards that you use and what do the different groups mean. help from people who have had experience with USING them will be greatly appreciated!!

2. I've used tarot cards, mostly as a tool of divination and more recently as a reminder about life and all the paths and roles that there are. The decks have 78 cards. 21 (or was it 22?) are the Major Arcana cards which represent different aspects of life's journey. Then you have the 4 suits: swords, cups, wands and coins.
