Incomplete Tarot Deck?
I recently found my tarot deck that I had a few years ago. But when I recounted it, I realized that I was missing two of the Major Arcana cards - The Hanged Man and The Emperor. To what extent would this affect my tarot readings, would it be taboo to still use the deck, and would it be harmful to make the missing cards myself?

- not to worry - they won't work now any more than they didn't work then. It's all total BS
- it wasn't until modern times that the exact number for tarot was set. so go ahead and use it, or if you prefer, design your own replacement for the missing cards.
- They ran away to San Francisco and had a lovely gay wedding. They're now happily ever after
- Probably work in the same way as though you had a regular deck of cards with the jokers missing.
- I don't think it would be taboo or harmful at all to use the deck but you won't get the benefit of a balanced reading. The Major Arcana is a system of visual metaphors for each step in the experience of human life so you could be missing out on important messages or lessons that you need to know about.
- Hello You need a full deck as they all hold importance. You could make stand ins for them, no problems. Sadhara
- There is something to be said to be playing with a full deck. Depending on the publisher you may be able to write to them see about replacement cards. I have heard that some are very willing to send out a couple of replacement cards from what they have in stock. Give it a shot and contact the publisher. Most will have a website where you can get contact information. Allan
