- Get a deck of cards and take out a book from your local library. There are also some places that have classes, take a look online for events local to where you live.
- The tarot cards were originally created as an extra deck after the jack, queen, king and ace. Thus, there is no mystical properties to them. However, those who do "read" tarot cards rely on there own interpretations, as well as information they recieve about a client. In other words, the tarot cannot be read as a serious exercise.
- you need to find a good book to learn the meanings of the tarot. I use the Marseilles deck which i french and is difficult to read quickly. I would recommend that you get a "waite" deck as the pictures are easier to learn. get a simple but expansive book! i use the 10 card celtic cross or the horseshoe! i would start by learning the meanings of the "minor" arcana first. Basically what the 1's, 2's, 3's etc mean and then the suits, wands, swords etc. learning the meanings of the suit types will help you marry the both together ok, so the wands are fiery right and relate to creative thinking.. for example the 3's generally relate to balance and initiation. the starting power of the one with the balancing "yin Yang" of the two making a 3. so.. 3 of wands in a positive light could suggest a balancing and initiative element that could be fiery and driven. do you see? learn them separately and in sections as its a lot to take in and also develop and trust your intuition too? good luck!
- why do you want to waste your life/time doing such a thing? <-- better question.
- That is witchcraft. Stay away!
- First. Find a deck that resonates with you personally. There are literally hundreds of them out there. Understanding and interpreting will be much easier if you find one that interests you. Spend time studying each card. Read everything you can find on it. There are books and websites to help you along. Do not move on until you have a basic understanding for each. Time isn't nearly as important as the quality of your research. When you're comfortable with the amount of knowledge you've gathered, begin doing focusing on a personal question and then do a "spread" to assist you in uncovering the answer. There really is no shortcut or substitute for study and practice. Good Luck.
- One good use of the tarot is to store wisdom and knowledge on them, a picture paints a thousand words, when you learn what is significant in each picture, eg clouds on the horizon, etc it can become an encyclopedia of knowledge for you, every bit of a picture will jog your memory of some bit of knowledge and wisdom, There are lots of good books about
- Hello I run a tarot course & also have an online community! Sadhara
- It takes time and patience. Some people here had some really good suggestions. Do some practice readings just to get to know the cards better. Study the background in each picture and learn what they mean. It is easier to use a book that pictures the same cards you are learning with. I prefer the Ryder deck. I am still learning and I have been reading the cards for more than 20 years. Good Luck and have fun with it. And remember the cards are not always right. They are a guide.
- hiya i am doing the course run by holistic paths to wisdom, very good course www.holisticpathstowisdom.co.uk S
- It takes time, but is rather easy. All you have to do, is memorize the cards and their meanings. Use any means necessary! You definitely want cards you like. If you trust someone enough to pick out cards, I guess you could let them. I highly recommend you take some time and shop around. http://horoscopes.aol.tarot.com/tarot/decks/index.php?deckID=26 That's a good site with lots of decks and photos of every card in every deck. Because of the memorization, these images become very powerful. I wouldn't be surprised if they affected my dreams. I wouldn't want a deck that would make me feel uncomfortable.
