- i'm not an expert on fairies, but i'm sure if you do a little research you will be fine. also, since you are starting from scratch with your own story, you can give your fairies their own characteristics. since fairies don't exist (or at least, that is what i believe) then you can create your own powers, weaknesses and strengths for them.
- If it's information on fairies you need just take a little vacation to San Francisco! There are plenty of fairies there and I'm sure they'd be willing to tell you all about their rainbow powers.
- This is based primarily on RPGs and some other folklore I've read. The main weakness for a fairy or one of the Fey is iron. Iron can harm most fey creatures. Some fairies show other weaknesses but it is usually specific to the fairy in question. As for longevity I think fairies are basically immortal unless destroyed with an iron weapon or by another fairy. Fairy powers differ depending on the fairy in question. Some had power over the weather and other elements, some can control shadows or become unseen at will, etc. There are tales of Oberon the king of the fey changing the day to night when angered, and Titania the queen wrapping herself in fallen leaves that become a beautiful gown, etc. In the end, its fiction and your story so do whatever you like.
- i am a fairy, our powers differ, every farie is unique, we are immortal and do not like iron, dont know about other fairies but i love silver
- Read a few of Laurell K. Hamilton's Meridith Gentry books. They are in the first person view of a fairy and her interactions with humans and other of her kind. This is serious adult literature. You can go to LaurellKHamilton.Com for information on her books. They are in a series, you'll want to start at the beginning. Good luck.
