Who provides the more accurate readings - clairvoyants or tarot readers?

please I am not interested in what sceptics feel as I believe that these people do have gifts. Too many in the past have told me things they could not have known and it was not cold reading as I gave nothing away. so who provides the more accurate readings - clairvoyants or tarot card readers? thanks

  1. A very good friend of mine is a Tarot reader and believe me it is nonsense. He'll even tell me that - he's a psychologist and has even shown me how it's done. So to answer your question, neither are accurate!
  2. They are both equally accurate. That is to say, both are fake. Believing something does not make it so, I'm afraid! Don't underestimate cold reading and confirmation bias. It is subtle, and you may not realise that it is going on. If you find any psychic that can stand up to properly organised testing, you can win a million dollars from the JREF. If you don't want it, think of the good you can do by giving it to charity!
  3. They are both the same with a 0% accurate reading record.
  4. i learned a lot about this in psychology. here's the deal with those people. they will tell you something vague and feed off of your reaction to what they say. so yes, they can be accurate, but they're not going to be able to tell you the winning lottery number. i'd say clairvoyants are more accurate since tarot card readers just deal whatever comes up.
  5. clairvoyants....just a guess....
  6. Only you can know who gave you the most accurate reading. I think the tarot cards are a loose interpretation, more of a guide. I would say clairvoyants,I agree there are people who do have a gift but there are a lot of people who will tell you the things they think you want to know.
  7. cold readers, hot readers (where they know you or have done some research) is not totally dependant you you blurting out stuff. although you would be suprised at what can simple be given away by body language alone. it can be as simple as guesswork based on your demographic - sex, age, class - even where you live. (people usually see readers in their local area) there have been studies showing people ALWAYS underestimate the amount of feedback that they give to the reader. in short, I think you have very little idea of what cold reading really is, if you still want to go to a reader
  8. I have to admit I don't know a grate deal about this, But I do believe that these people have a good gift and the way they use tarot cards and other items like Crystal balls is there way of bringing out there gift to others. As for witch is the most accurate readings well I can't help about that I guess witch ever one you feel comfortable with.
  9. Cold readers are experts at picking up things you unwittingly give way, not one has taken James Randi's $1,000,000 challenge, it's children in need on friday, why doesn't anyone take the chalenge and give the money to those who need it? doesn't that tell you something about them? have you no free will? do you still believe in the tooth fairy? they are all fakes, I don't care if your not interested in my answer, it's an 'open' forum, there are some who will be, and there is hope for them. If you have a free will, watch this: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=haP7Ys9ocTk

  11. Some people do have an ability to know things which they have not been told. Some people who call themselves clairvoyants can do this and so can some Tarot readers as they use clairvoyance but do not say so. It is up to anyone who uses these services to decide for themselves. Do not volunteer information by talking or by body language during a reading if you can help it.
  12. The thing is if someone is grieving it can help them, and it is a matter of personal belief! When a loved one dies it is extremely hard fro them to hear that there is no afterlife, and that their loved one is now nothing more than 'worm feed' or burnt to a cinder. They need to feel a connection, that the loved one still survives in some form or other! I went to a Spiritualist Church with a friend of mine whose baby daughter died; she found it impossible to reconcile to the fact that her daughter's life was so brief and meaningless. There was a spiritualist there and she told her some stuff which alleviated my friends pain, and they didn't charge a penny! What is wrong with that, if it helped my friend? I agree there are charlatans out there who profit from grief, but there are others who have more effect than a counsellor does. I do read Tarot Cards myself, I admit to being sceptical, but they do work, and I do not give vague or ambiguous responses. There is so much that is not understood in this universe! I have power in my house, but I don't need to have an electronics degree to explain how my tv works, so I can't explain how Tarot works, but it does!
  13. I am both a clairvoyant and a tarot reader. Since clairvoyance and tarot can be used in separate readings, I can give you my opinion! Just like a saw and a hammer can both be used on wood, different tools or lack of tools can be used in divination. One or the other is not more accurate, but one can be more precise than another. Accuracy and precision have much to do with the reader, but tools are a factor in precision. Clairvoyance can have better precision for certain symbols, such as letters in a name or numbers or specific images you may not see on the cards. Tarot cards can have more precision for fleshing out time-lines or understanding whether something is taking place in the past, present or future, or for which person it is happening.
  14. you don't have to be spiritually gifted to be a tarot reader. The cards aren't fortune telling cards. They read YOU, not the future. We all hold the answers that we seek, within our hearts and the cards merely help you view a situation from different angles, viewpoints you might not be able to see by yourself because you're too emotionally wrapped up in it. Some readers are very good, they know their cards very well and are gifted in their own right in this way, but they don't necessarily have any "psychic" gifts. Though most tarot readers have some sort though. For example a good friend of mine is empathic and he reads the cards. A clairvoyant can see things outside the range of normal human sight. But...they're also human and they're not in control of what visuals they get for you, they get what they get. So... that all depends, on whose readings are more accurate, to be honest. For a tarot reader it depends on how well this person knows and has been working with their cards. For a clairvoyant, it depends on how well they know their own sight and how much they trust what they get.
  15. Hello Josie Most Tarot readers are Clairvoyants. Accuracy will not depend on which 'tool' is used to connect to the client but rather to the honesty of the client & the clarity of the channel (reader). Sadhara
  16. Clairvoyance is more accurate because with tarot cards you never know if you have really followed your intuition or if you let your thoughts get in the way. There are of course some tarot readers that are better than some clairvoyants, but overall I think Clairvoyance is more accurate, and accountable^-^
  17. Neither. They're all charlatans. I'm not a sceptic, I'm a rationalist. Start living your own life and ignore the claptrap these so called psychics are foisting upon the gullible
  18. I wish I could fully answer that. I read cards. And it scares me how accurate my readings are. I really do just read the cards. It is not so much interpretation, it is the order in which the cards show up. They tell the story...gosh I even informed one woman I had never met before the reading, that she had three children. Turned out she only had two. so, I was ready to throw in the towel. If one aspect is wrong then the rest is highly suspect, but everything else I mentioned to her was true. Turned out she was pregnant and did not know at the time. The rest is now history, but spooky. I tend to think that it is more a case of somehow receiving information from the querent and chanelling that information through the cards, but I am not sure. Those who have seen me read tell me that I am clairvoyant...darned if I know...smile.
  19. You cant give yourself a cold reading, so don't believe these people when they say tarot is completely nonsense. Since it is open to independent practice, there is no trickery or nonsense. The tarot comes from the oldest book known to man, which is the Torrah. The symbols have been etched in mankind's consciousness since the dawn of time.
