What do you think about Tarot readings? Real or fake? ?

I've done my own readings and found some surprising truth in them, and I've also done my mom's a couple of my friends. They seemed all on the target. Plausible futures. And I was talking more about the past and present representations.

Public Comments

  1. Real fake
  2. They are absolutely fake. Do some research on "confirmation bias".
  3. FECK OFF SUPERSTITIOUS BASSTARD, AND COME AND HAVING A FEKING DRINK!
  4. Coincidence or the moon's made of green cheese.
  5. REALLY FAKE BUT VERY COINCINDENTAL
  6. Gee, tough one. Can a stack of cardboard with pretty pictures on them predict my future! Are you serious????
  7. I had mine done about 7 yrs ago, and nothing in it has happened as it was said, in any area of my life, hence i havent been back.
  8. when i had mine done the woman was spot on! it were creepy...but u never know she may have been stalking me for the few months before that! i'd like to believe real tho!
  9. Some foolish cards can not dictate ones future.. Although when someone receives there fate from a fortune teller, one might complete it through power of suggestion? Maybe it was a coincidence? I'd say it's Fake..
  10. People who believe - and if it helps them - then that is fine. Personally I am not a believer really, although I have a very good friend who swears by Tarot readings. She has done mine a few times and although some things have been true, I have yet to be convinced of some of the interpretations she gives me when something crops up that I totally disagree with. It is choice, if it works for you and you find it accurate, then enjoy. :)
  11. They're as real as you make them to be.
  12. So ask a question that you can get a definite answer to, a "yes" or "no" question that's not subject to bogus interpretation. Repeat. See what your success rate is.
  13. Well, I don't blindly trust them. I do believe that one may actually predict the future (or better the most likely to happen) but I always take them with a grain of salt. Also, it depends on who's doing the reading. If the person is one of those so-called "psychics" that will charge you a fortune just to throw some cards on the table and tell you that you will have three children when you have like ten... Well, those I completely discard. On the other hand, there are those who do it free of charge (usually friends or relatives with a certain "something" like a gift) and they are right most of the time.... Those I do trust. However, the future is very easily affected and altered by even the smallest of choices so I think that any divinatory method only presents (when done right) the most likely to happen future.
  14. sooooooooooo fake
  15. Fake, Those who don't believe in themselves, they believe in Tarot readings
  16. All fake.
  17. Absolutely bogus in my opinion. Peace
  18. Load of baloney
  19. Fake, make almost any vague statement and it will be true for some."You will travel",you will get a new job etc...
  20. Fake, of course. But these things can influence the way you perceive your life and they have been known to cause people emotional and spiritual problems. Best to leave them well alone.
  21. I once use to visit a so called 'spiritualist' web site and was encouraged to give 'readings'. I used every day playing cards and a book which gave me 'interpretations'. I always told the person I was 'reading ' for that I was a novice butthey always said I was spot on. All I did was take what the book said and tailor my response by what I thought they wanted to hear.
  22. The cards worked very well for me. After playing with them for a while I found that I could zero in on whatever was the main issue in someone's life within 15 seconds. I refused to try and foretell the future. Where did I get the information from? Obviously I got it from them. How did that work? I don't know. I looked at the cards and said the first thing that came into my head and it always made sense. Somehow my brain was able to gather information about the person in front of me better if I looked at the cards than if I thought about them. Oh, and if I got stuck I would point to a card and ask: "What do you see in that card?" That always told me a lot about them!
  23. I used to have tarot parties in my home, not done by me but a proper psychic. The readings were interesting although not always entirely accurate, and since I met God I have renounced all of that. Only God knows the future, anything else you get told is from the devil to mislead you. There is power in it, but not good power.
  24. I have to admit to being an arch skeptic- as humans we tend to look for patterns in things- astrology is another example of finding things to fit the facts. However, the danger therein is having a closed mind, and since divination is as old as Human thought, and therefore as old as art, mythology and the big 'why' questions, then maybe there is something we can tap into... but then this is only a theory. We used to believe the stars were dead spirits and that trees had souls, remember!
