  1. I really think it is. Everything happens for a reason. Maybe God is really trying to draw you away from them and to Him instead.
  2. Yes! Listen to your instincts and forget the cards!!
  3. I do believe that being told not to buy them and after 4 times I thing that should be enough to convince you not to buy a deck of tarot cards..... Now there were times or two when I received warning not to a certain thing... And I did not listen and within seconds I payed a very heavy price... Now when I received a warning I obey it with out question or an iota of doubt......... I strongly recommend.that you do the same... Now there are going to be people that will tell you to buy those cards... But they don't give a damn if you live or die and they won't miss you so why would even think of listening to them.............
  4. If your gut feeling says that you shouldn't, maybe it is a sign that the current you is not ready for the cards. What is your purpose for wanting the cards? If you do not have pure intentions the cards might be telling you that you are better off without them. Solve whatever problems you have right now without having to rely on the tarot or anything supernatural. Then when you are more calm and clear-headed, try buying them again. Maybe then you will not feel as though something is hindering you. There is nothing dark and sinister about a pack of cards - they're just sheets of colored cardboard!
  5. Tarot cards are basically a tool for divination. The standard deck has a great many symbolic themes, that are mainly used to trigger aspects of the subconscious. When we divine, we are using the literal and the creative mind to peer into that shadowy area of chaos and control, looking for patterns. The cards are just a tool. The person using them is the antennae, sifting for answers. So patterns are where you see them. If you see a pattern of things telling you this might be a bad time for this...then use your intuition. In this scenario, you have little to lose. Try fire scrying, or focusing on any natural/chaos scene (waves, clouds, ambient sounds, etc). If you let yourself go, you'll see images and ideas come and go. They will defy direct interpretation. But that's okay. The universe is a big place, and we can't understand it all. But with time you might be able to discern trends that might help you or others on their path.
  6. its not a sign to stop buying them all together, its a sign you are buying them from the wrong places- look around at what alternative stores you have in your area, and if you do have doubts when purchasing a deck then dont buy them. you will be instantly drawn to a deck when you see them. Make sure when you get them home you dont use them until you cleanse them, there are many different techniques to cleansing cards (just google tarot cleansing for more details) I find the best way to cleanse and re charge mine is by placing them on a windowsil on a full moon. If you are wanting to use them straight away and there isnt a full moon you could use White Sage insense to cleanse them, by shuffling the cards and waving each card through the smoke of the insence.
  7. Id say that its a sign that you're not ready at this time or that none of those decks were the one for you, or that the places you tried were not the way you were suppose to get your first deck. Often your first deck will be gifted to you when a fellow tarot-reader feels the cards have to move on, or when someone close to you sees them and feels that they are yours. Sometimes a deck will catch your eye or appear when you're not looking for them- perhaps at the moment you're not ready and when you've stopped looking someone will give you a deck out of the blue, or you'll wander into a shop or a website and find your perfect deck. I find tarot cards as well as other Divination tools such as runes and pendulums are almost sentient- they seem to know when to find YOU rather that you finding them. Good luck, one day you'll find the perfect deck for you and hopefully the reading you do wont make you as upset as ones in the past have :) *Blessed Be*
  8. There is nothing wrong with reading tarot cards. It's not a sign I don't think. Amazon sells them. Try Ancestral Path they are pretty cards. Waitte Ryder cards I think are ugly.
  9. get someone else to buy them for you as tarot cards work better that way and when you get them sleep with them under your pillow for a while and cleanse and charge them with some kind of natural energy and then work away!
  10. I think God is trying to tell you that you shouldn't buy the cards. Tarot cards are occultic and will hurt you spiritually and otherwise.
  11. Hello The only thing that it should be a sign of is for you to look at why you wish to have them? Are you ready to grow, learn about yourself & others & see the truth of your life? or do you wish them to be able to see into all things at all times? If it is the first then you will get some when the time is right darling & you will be amazed by them, if the latter disappointed! Sadhara
  12. Your reaction to a reading may be based solely on a past life experience or memory that wasn't positive. You may be clairsentient and able to sense more than the average person. Your reaction may also be a result of programming, while you were growing up. After all, according to the church, tools like tarot and crystals, and psychic abilities "obviously" (to them) means one is in league with the Devil...what a bunch of propaganda crap! My own experience when I decided to finally purchase a tarot deck...I joined an online group, spent well over a month reading their digests so when the time came (I felt it like you do) I had my mind set on getting a standard Rider-Waite deck. What is significant - and you may want to examine this in greater detail - is that my intent was to use them as an additional method of working and communicating with my guides. The first occult store I went to didn't have them and when I got to the recommended store, I was stunned to see an entire wall covered with diferent types of decks. My eyes were drawn almost immediately to one in particular and when I ran a palm over them, I got a warm tingle. I went through the motions of checking out some others but knew these were the ones my guides were directingme to purchase. Oddly enough, they weren't even tarot cards...they were called "Ask Your Guides" Oracle cards, made by Sonia Choquette. But I knew. without any doubt, that my guides had come through with direction only when I firmly established my intent. My point is that there are other factors to consider before rejecting your very strong internal urge. The most important is in timing. Your desire to learn about them is not random so please don't think that a door is being shut in your face. But you may need to make some changes, either externally or within, before you are ready to pursue working with the spirit realm at this time. Perhaps part of it involves you not having a clear intent as to why you want to learn. With that said, you know there are no coincidences and you can feel some type of influence that is directing you away from tarot, at this time. It simply means that there is still something that you need to learn or experience before you are truly ready. Accept these incidents as the guidance they were intended to be and whisper a quick prayer of gratitude to your guides...and let them know you are open and willing to do what it takes. You already know, inside, that this is a part of who you are and why you're here. Have some trust that when the time is right, the proper doors will open for you. Blessings.
