Is it possible to use a regular pack of cards to do a tarot reading?

And can you point me in the direction of the method please? Thank-you.

1. Of course. You are just missing the Major Arcana, that is all. ADD: The four suits still represent the 4 elements. The cycle starting from the initial creation, leading through the conflict, then resolving into the King of the Element still applies. ADD ADD: Remember before you shuffle that there is not "inverse" of the cards; that also limits the interpretations.
2. Actually you can just cut up a cardboard carton and use the pieces. One stack of cardboard is as good as another. Surely you can't believe that printing pretty pictures on the cardboard endows it with any special powers????
3. Yes. See link. Also, eliminate all number cards from the deck, use only royals and aces and exchange them for minor arcana royals. Y~
4. I could never see the reasoning of one person shuffling a pack of cards himself, taking it out himself and reading the future of others. Tarot readers have never told me any correct answers.
5. Yes; although you'll have no trumps except the Joker (= fool) and no knights, and the suits will be different. Aside from that, it's exactly the same process.
6. Hello Dani No, Tarot are Tarot, based on symbolism & the two decks. Playing cards are called Cartomancy when used for guidance. Sadhara see profile :)
7. If you know what your doing you could probably use domino's or scraps of paper you've written out the tarot on! There is no true method, just what feels right and works for you. Lady13 P.S.
