The Meaning of the "Lover's" tarot card?

I drew it in a reading for a friend of mine who just got into a fight with his ex girlfriend, and Im trying to figure out if it means a new relationship, or just a relationship in general. Dont just bash on me for using tarot, I will report you.

  1. The Lovers generally deals with a point at which you are forced to make decisions that will affect affairs of the heart. This could be deciding on whether or not you want a relationship with this person, deciding to take a relationship to the next step, deciding between two lovers or even making a choice between someone you love and the job of your dreams. It's hard to know much else without knowing about the other cards in the spread. Cards that bode especially well for relationships are the Ace of Cups, the 2 of Cups, or the 10 of Cups. If any of these appeared with the Lovers, then, yes, it's new and it's that sappy, cheesy, doe-eyed sort of love.
  2. though I don't believe in them, I have read that card means RUN
  3. It's hard to tell what it could mean, since a reading usually involves all of the cards in the spread, with each interacting with the others...so what spread was used, where in the spread it appeared, what other cards were involved, as well as whether it was inverted or not, all of these could impact on the meaning of the card... Also, what deck you were using...Some of the decks are based off of the Rider/Waite deck, and usually follows that symbolism and meaning, but I do know there are some decks with different symbolism, and they can sometimes have different meanings for the different cards... it could mean a choice, or a relationship, or even a choice concerning a relationship...but inverted it can mean a wrong relationship, wrong choices being made, even infidelities or the breakup of a relationship... It really all depends...
