Wedding favors advice?

I have pretty much narrowed options for wedding favors down to the "cootie catchers" (the little paper fortune teller things we made in grade school).. But I don't know what to really put on there.. Should I put like a little dare kinda thing, like "get up and dance" "make a new friend" and things along that line or should I make them questions about us? Like "where did we meet?" or "How did he purpose?".. I don't really want to put the dare kinda things because i dont really think people will like them as much.. But If I do the questions bout us I'm not sure people will really understand how to "play"... Does anyone have any suggestions for other things I could write or any other creative ideas?

  1. How about a thank you for attending our special day?
  2. Most people will just be counting on the open bar that will hopefully be at your wedding. Provide this and all should go well.
  3. that is SO cool!!! i love that idea!! incorporate some of both. instead of questions maybe put some unlikely known facts about you and your honey, where you met, what made you fall in love with each other etc. i like the 'dare' ideas! it would be a good way to get people involved in dancing and mingling with others they may not know. if you are going to have kids at the reception make some specially for them like, ask mom/dad to dance with you, or dance with the bride/groom etc. that is such a cute idea, i have never heard of it before! i want to come up with somethign creative like that, that no one else has done before!
  4. My advice is to skip the wedding favors. I wasted more money on those than anything else and most people just left them and if you do a poll, I'd bet you'd find most people would be more than happy to not get one. Maybe provide more champagne or something?? Another thought might be to get one big wedding photo taken (everyone in the wedding and at the wedding) that you can send to everyone. My sister had one taken and it was hilarious and so much fun. Brings back so many memories when you look at it.
  5. I hate to burst your bubble but I think this is a silly idea for a party favor. If you don't want to use something that someone is never going to use, then maybe you consider getting something edible? Cookies with icing in the color of your wedding scheme or chocolates? Everyone loves those! :)
  6. I definitely agree with Angel above me the facts thing is a really cute idea..what is the theme of your wedding? I did my wedding around Christmas so my MIL got clear Christmas bulb ornaments put some red and green glitter and a piece of white garland and put a tag inside that said Daniel and Nicole Dec 16th 2006 it turned out so cute. How did you guys meet? For example one Idea I originally had my husband and I met at my first job at Chili's so I thought about getting chili ornaments and get a metallic sharpie and write on it the date we got married and put it in a little bag or box and have a little paper rolled like a scroll explaining how we met. There are so many cool ideas you could go with I researched a lot online and put my own twist on it. Have Fun!
  7. give blow up dolls out
  8. i like the dare/ get up and dance, introduce yourself to a stranger, propose a toast, dance with the bride/ groom, dance with a child, sing along to a song, etc...
  9. favors are usually distributed after the reception. will your guests go home and play in their living room?
