Please, help me interpret these tarot cards: the lovers, 7 of cups + wheel of fortune and 4 of swords?

My friend did a reading about how a male friend of mine I've been hanging out with lately feels about me. 1. His consciousness (what's on his mind) - The Lovers 2. His feelings (for me) - 7 of Cups (reversed) + Wheel of Fotune 3. His subconsciousness - 4 of Swords The reversed 7 of Cups got us both really confused so she pulled another card for clarification and got the Wheel of Fortune. My own interpretation is that he is considering the option of being in a relationship with me (consciousness) but has "frozen/buried" any romantic feelings he has for me (subcosnciousness) although the cards on the second position seem to indicate that he might be feeling there is still hope for good fortune with me but the 7 of Cups just really confuses me.... It either means he knows he has a choice or an opportunity with me but simply has a negative attitude towards it because of what happened in his past OR he is slowly becoming clearer about his feelings for me (doesn't daydream as much anymore or something)... This guy is really shy, humble, decent and scared of love because his ex-gf hurt him and broke his heart.. if this info helps. He kissed me passionately once and since then became a bit cold, distant and strange around me. He said he was afraid of failure of a relationship again (if we were to start one) and lacks courage to kiss me or do anything intimate, passionate again because he's scared it would upset me. Yet he's said he likes me, feels attracted to me and shares great chemistry with me but he's confused. So, any idea what these cards could mean? I generally know the meanings but a little insight would be helpful and much appreciated. Thanks! P.S. All you lot who are against using tarot can f*ck off.
