Learning to read tarot cards. Question please.?

When laying out cards for the celtic cross, the 2nd card is laid sideways. Should it be considered reversed if the head of the card is to the left or the right? Thanks!!!

  1. Ugh, I don't know. OK, I think when the top is facing the left it is up then if the bottom is facing the left it is reversed. I think. I would look into it more.
  2. I think looking at it, laying the head to the left would be up, and the other reversed. I personally don't know, so I'd consider getting a book written by someone who fully understands the art of tarot. Some book stores sell full guides on how to read tarot and some other layouts. Just check your Barnes and Nobles or local shop for one.
  3. Right is dexter, left is sinister: so if the foot of the card is to the left then it's "reversed." If it's set to the right, that's *upright*, as the name suggests.
  4. Hello No, upright. I don't lay it sideways, nothing says you have to, just lay it across. Sadhara
  5. No. The second position is always supposed to be read as upright at all times. Hope that helps.
