The Law Concerning Tarot Shops.?
I am a serious student. My grades are great. I'm a national honor society student. I got a 1691 on my SAT and I plan to become a librarian. But I really love reading Tarot Cards. I'm also thinking of moving to Salem Oregon once I get out on my own. I'd like to know if anyone can tell me how to open up a Tarot Shop there and what legal aspects need to be minded.

- You might contact the Salem Chamber of Commerce for advice regarding opening a business. Oregon has a .pdf document that shows you "How to Start a Business in Oregon". http://www.filinginoregon.com/forms/pdf/business/1100.pdf Past that I would recommend a lawyer and a financial advisor. Perhaps you could work in an established shop first before jumping off a cliff into a new business. And of course the smart alek answer would be to consult your cards on what to do. Good luck.
- Honestly, you need college first. Perhaps you could minor in business and that would teach you how to run a business. It's just a suggestion, but Tarot shops don't bring in a lot of money, and many stores or bookstores or whatever are losing business because of the bigger internet stores. For example, let's say you buy a case of the Rider-Waite-Smith deck and you would basically have to sell them at the retail price, but a customer could get online and get the same deck for a few dollars cheaper on a website. The bigger store websites buy them in greater quantities and can sell them for less money, but still be making a profit. It's not a good idea in my opinion. I've seen many stores close within months of opening, and I'm afraid that this could be one of them.
- Hello I should think that as along as you have public liability you should be fine, just contact your local governing town body - they will tell you all you need to know. Sadhara
