what are good costumes for a party? help please?

its my lil sis's sweet sixteen and i need to throw her a party i need ideas! She lives with me, (dad dead, mom has mental prob) and i cant afford to throw her a MTV party, but i want her to have a great time, since i never had a sweet sixteen party myself i have no fricken clue what to do...okay well i sorta do, here it goes: Her adn her friends get in a limo and drive around to places, i will set up clues for them adn the limo driver will know where to go ahead of time so they dont spend like 5 hours and then we have no money for food for the rest of the month.... anyway so they go to the places and she gets a prez from each place, i want to make the places fun so i was thinking henna and tarot card readings but i need more ideas, also she like me is out there and likes attention, so for costumes we were thinking princess themed..but one of her friends refused to wear a dress...so i was think wired costume sorta things..cuz the particular friend is a must have at the party apparently and Rowan (sis) will die if shes not there....so i was thinking maybe since Rowan like history they could dress up as someone from history but then i thought she might think that was dorkie or something...i really have not earthly idea what to do...please help me.

1. well you could have like the princess theme but like different types of princesses, eg. girly princess, gothic princess, tom boy princess, eg. And you could get the anti dress one to wear like a mini dress or skirt and top or something.
2. Pajama party works out to be the best. easy to carry and in case you wish to add anything jazzy, put face masks and play a lot of games...This is actually fun
3. Okay, so, you could have them all wear a bunch of funky stuff (a bunch of mis-matched outfits) (crazy hats, crazy socks, etc.) and henna and tarrot are good ideas. Others could be any of these: a movie an arcade a pottery session etc. Good luck and I wish you the best!
4. I think it's really sweet that you're doing this for her. First, I think you should drop the limo. It's too expensive. But I like the idea of the limo. Can you get someone with a great personality who will dress nice and do the job, but in a less extravagant vehicle? The henna and tarot ideas are great! That's exactly the sort of thing that the girls will love. Here are more ideas: - Pre-purchase hats, cool sunglasses, feather boas or similar items at a party or costume store and have this location be the first stop on the ride. The girls start the night with their party attire. - One of the stops needs to be a place for photographs. Maybe EVERY stop needs to be a place for photographs. So you select locations that are interesting or amusing photo locations, and they have to take the photo in a way that PROVES that they were there. Require that at least half of the photos include all of the girls. This will force them to ask strangers to take the picture, and it should be amusing while also getting great shots of everyone. - The last stop could be an errand to pick up something for the party, perhaps her cake. It would already be paid for. Your trusted chauffeur might be a person you could trust with handling receipts for pre-paid items.
