Are horoscopes evil/wrong? And to what extent?

I am a Christian, and i am curious to know if it is wrong to go NEAR things like horoscopes. I know it says that they are sorcery is evil in the Bible and stuff,, but i was just wondering. And i am not serious about it. Like, i wouldn't go to a fortune teller or anything. I just look at them online every ONCE IN A WHILE. It is just because i am bored. I don't believe they are real or mean anything.

  1. God says to stay completely away from them. Do not be fooled. You can easily be led away and enticed by Satan, the trickster.
  2. Horoscopes are just generalizations. You are going to have a good thing happen at work soon. There meaningless, and are good for entertainment only. Like some other things people tend to believe in without evidence, or with generalizations.
  3. They can't hurt you. They're mostly just really funny—or really stupid. Either way, they're good for a laugh. Have you ever read the ones by The Onion? www.theonion.com
  4. Part of subscribing to a religion is having to feel shame and fear for doing harmless things. Although reading a simple fictitious horoscope is harmless, as a religious person you are required to be either afraid or ashamed for doing it. The simple fact that you asked this question shows that your religion is working on you.
  5. mkaii hun, so ignore the first person who answered cuz it says NO WHERE in the bible where you should stay away from these things..i am gnostic christian and also of "so called non existant" clairvoyent powers..wich have been proven...and and before every thing i do i say the Lords prayer..i use angel oracle cards ANGEL as in God's angels..the only thing bad about clairvoyence is the people who use against our heavenly Father, who gave us them..
  6. They are complete nonsense. Many times an experiment has bee conducted in which the star signs are removed from horoscopes and astrologers have been asked to match the horoscope to the proper sign. They have always failed miserably.
  7. I'm not Christian but I think the Bible warned people to stay away from "soothsaying" such as horoscopes, fortune tellers, divination like tarot cards, crystal balls, etc. is because people can get bad information or false information and then it can negatively influence a person's decisions. If we humans think that we know our future, then we are trapped in either trying to make that future happen or trapped in trying to avoid that future. So, I don't think it's so much a sin as it is just bad advice to follow such things. A lot of what the Bible teaches is just common sense to protect people. Just like the Kosher laws. Back in the desert with no refrigeration, you really wouldn't want to eat pork because pork tends to have more parasites and spoils more than other meats. So the Kosher laws really were designed to help people stay alive and not die from food poisoning. When you take the "sin" out of what the Bible teaches, and just analyze what is really behind it, you'll find it's common sense to protect people from harm. So avoiding horoscopes was a way to protect people from getting bad or false advice. In order to make sure people really followed these laws, the "sin" factor was used to scare people that they have to obey this Biblical law or they will burn in hell or incur the wrath of God. Scaring people into obedience with threat of bad consequences has always worked well and it still works today, look how worried you are about reading your daily horoscope in the newspaper.
  8. You really will believe anything anyone tells you won't you? Don't worry about it. It'll all be over in 2012 :-D
  9. Astrology is a lot more complicated than what you think. In astology you do not just base things on your sun sign which most do. A birth chart can tell you where all of your planets are. It actually makes plenty of sense. with astology you can get really deep. Do not just base it on what month you were born and say oh I am taurus and that is it. There are other planets, that affect your personality Actually, horoscope never lies! But it will be right for this group of people and wrong for another group of people. It is not always right, but we can find some new reasons for our life there! I think you shouldn't doubt horoscope but don't believe completely in them, just keep possible thinking.. You have to use your email address to sign in this site, and then you can find more about your future, which kind of person will be suitable for you, how is your career.... http://www.onlinechineseastrology.com
