- Yes. I just finished writing a story , with metaphysical themes ,and I used , for dramatic effect, Greek names , with specific significations. One of the names that I used was "Calista" - which in Greek means "beautiful" , and than , in a words-game , "Callista"-which , written with double "l" means "the most beautiful". Since I wanted to present a dual aspect , I used "Calisto" , for the masculine half. I found this to be a nicely resonant name. Another name I used was "Cosima" , which resonates nicely and means "harmony, universe". So I would strongly suggest you to use Greek names , as they create a feeling of ancient , and mythology.
- Depending on the setting of your story, Celtic names might be a good choice (especially if it's supposed to have a fairy tale sort of feel). Some of them can be hard to pronounce, but as long as you don't pick something like Fflamddwyn (pronounced FLAM thwin) or Conchobhar (KRU hur), you should be safe. Also, the Welsh suffix 'wen' means 'white/blessed/fair'. Something to keep in mind when poking around with names. :)
