Do Tarot/Oracle Cards work? Have you seen them work on yourself or others?

I use OracleTarot cards occasionally in reading the current or future stages and events in my life -- and I have to say, for the most part, the cards have been pretty accurate to what's going on around me. But I am careful to respect and not deal with the cards (or spirits, etc) too much. Have Tarot cards worked for you or other people you know? (especially if you use them weekly?) How about in good/happy and bad situations? I'm very curious. Thanks! Interesting responses so far.. to Red&White: I dont' use them to do my decision making (seriously, I'm not that silly).. but to more or less refer them to how things will transpire in the next week, month or whatever. Most of the time, it's been on-target, but not with specifics - like if I'm going to have a positive or a negative week, or agree if I'm making the right decisions.

  1. no their hogwash:)
  2. no it think its all bologna
  3. No, they don't work. You interpret from them what you want to. No big secret, really.
  4. No, anyone who tells you different is either confused or lying.
  5. Tarot cards are general enough that they can apply whether they predict or not. Remember the answer of the Oracle at Delphi when asked the outcome of a great battle: "If you cross the river, a great nation will be destroyed". The querant took his army across the river, and brought ruin to his own land.
  6. If you believe the cards work, they will. It's as simple as that.
  7. Nooooo way dude! They are designed to make it seem like they know all about you
  8. ive tryed-but they just a tool--that true mindreaders use--to get in contact--and most of normal folk's-well can play with them but not use them
  9. They can but do you really want to entertain those types of spirits in your life? I would say look to Jesus for answers even though you may not get the answer you want..........
  10. my friend is into it deep, and everything that an oracle has told her has been true, i actually want to see one
  11. Um. Well, it really depends on what you think. Oracles use really vague and broad topics, so everything they say sounds convincing and accurate based on your life.
  12. Yes. They can say accurate things, but it all depends on who is doing the reading. My advice is not to depend too heavily on this stuff.. use them as a reference, NOT to make your OWN decisions. Being able to make decisions by yourself is part of adulthood. Get real. P.D: Try not to do a reading more than once every three months!. There could be bad consequences if you use them too much.
  13. I use tarot cards all the time!! They work all the time for me. When you get a deck put it under your pillow for 2 nights. They need to know your energy and then work for you. When you do use them you should be able to know exactly what they mean. if not then that card is made for you to wonder about and then you should know what it means over time. i knew that I wouldn't be popular this year (8th grader) and that my friend would betray me and then move and THEN be in my high school. ALL OF IT CAME TRUE!! And trust me, as long as you believe in them they should work for you!!
  14. Hey, use a deck of regular playing cards they'll work just as well. Life's a gamble anyway.
  15. I think they work as well as horoscope and etcetera... If you read , it says averege things, and if you believe that it's true you will remember it and when something happens that suits the reading you remember that 'hey, the card/horoscope told!' Of course you easily forget the things that don't happen. And, some case you make something because you read it. ("You'll meet with an old friend.".. oh, I should call Suzy or something like that)
  16. yeah my friends consider it as a very strange coincidence it always works for me. If you have a clear mind focusing on the question what you wanna know, you'll get the answer.... may be this is just my superstition. I think tarots & all really works with people who have telepathic abilities... I've it in a small way. I never believed in these things before....but yeah now I do....
  17. in answer to your question? yes and no! it works when you read into it what you want (to read into it). the results can and often are so general that it kinda' like that over-sized shirt we buy for nightwear. you know, the one that says, 'fits all sizes'? the seer, you, will have all so-called insights fit all occasions. men and women have been longingly looking for that beacon that shows us tomorrow or that fountain of youth and health. know what? if you find it, for real, and it works, bottle it, sell it, become mega rich overnight but before all that, you let me know, 'cause wouldn't that be swell!
  18. as with most other mystic type devices (ouiji board etc..)tarot crds idntify with truisms found in all of us and our daily ives. like saying " you are ambitions". well we all would like to think we are ambitious, and we can all consider ourselvs to be ambitious on certain levels, even if its lack of ambition that relates most closely to ambition in the oposite way. no matter how we interprate these word they hold some meaning to us personally in some way, if this is what we consider being able to predict the future or read the past through symbols etc, then maybe we all need to look a little closer at the occult and mythical ideas for directions and guidance
  19. i think is not about the tarot, its about the perception and what you feel while you are reading the tarot, and that makes u know so accuratly what is going to happen, so if that happens to you is definitly true.
  20. I use the tarot cards and they have been extremely accurate for others. I can not read for myself because the few times that I have attempted it - its all negative and then I set my mind on it. I have received good tarot readings from others. So, I know that my life is not all negative - I only read for others now. :)
  21. Well, curiousity is only a step towards knowledge, let me help you out a little. I have experimented with Tarot cards I used to use them on a daily basis to help me with a decision or outcome of somekind. Basically Tarot cards are a tool, I don't believe they can tell the future because the future is what you make of it. Any decision you make can change that future for good or bad. Although, the Tarot cards will tell you different ways of seeing your question to make you think of the underlying problems, issues, or positives. In this way they don't ever give you a definent 'yes' or 'no' to your question. They show you different angles of your question. I believe this makes a question more versitile. I unfortuanatly don't use my Tarot cards anymore because of respect to my boyfriend and his family's beliefs. My best friend does readings for me often and tells me how it goes and what the cards say. I hope this helps out, I don't know about your religious beliefs but of what I've seen and done on my own the Tarot cards aren't evil. They are pretty accurate with feelings or hunches I have about something. Always think of them as an extention of yourself. I read in a book that as you shuffle them and handle them your energy goes into them. That's why they are so accurate at times. Although, they can be used for evil, just like anything else in life. Just be very careful. Good Luck and Have a Merry Christmas!
  22. Tarot is a tool of divination, meaning it helps the Seeker connect to the Divine. Norse Rune Stones are another tool of divination. Yes, I use them and they do work in helping one connect to the divine. In this regard, I believe that what is revealed (whether using Tarot or Rune Stones) are things you already know, based on your present course of action, even if you don't realize you know it on a conscious level. The Oracle at Delphi said "know thyself". Tarot and Rune Stones are tools to help you "know thyself"
  23. Hello Sassy I have studied the tarot for over 20 years & teach them. I have seen time & time again how wonderful they are as a psychic development tool. When it comes to divination, guidance & understanding they can display a great amount of accuracy. You mentioned that you wearnt 'silly enough' to ask for answers for yourself. Why not? If you can be objective, calm & unfocused on the outcome tarot work very well for direct self guidance. Pam
