learning tarot cards..?
i have been learning tarot cards for about 4 days now.... i am studying the major arcana first because im a beginner. i Pretty much know what all the major arcana represents. I have been reading myself and i decided to read my friend. I did the past present and future layout. Everything that the cards said was realllllyyy accurate.. i told her to ask the question in her head so i wouldn't know her question and so i could try to figure out what her question was. well anyways i knew what her question was about when i finished the reading. i just cant believe how accurate the reading was and that was my first time reading for someone besides myself. QUESTION... as i get more into the cards will images come to me about a persons question? Is it alright to study the major arcana first since im a beginner?

- 4 days is nothing in the study of tarot. You have a long way to go my friend. Yes, the Major Arcana is the best place to start. And yes, as you progress in your learning, interpretations will come easier to you. I would suggest pulling one card a day (or every few days as time allows) and meditating on it. Focus on it. Take notes on what comes to you from the card. And then read others' interpretations of it and see what clicks. (You can start by pulling from just the Major Arcana until you get through that. Start with the first card and work your way through one by one, following the Journey of the Fool.) Yeah, one of my spiritual mentors and I joke a lot with "The cards don't lie". But in actuality, it isn't the cards themselves doing anything - they are merely a tool to help one access the subconscious mind and bring forth information to the conscious mind. It is amazing how much more we learn about ourselves when we do this...though it's pretty much stuff we already knew deep down.
- The way I was taught to read the cards took a while - as you need a notebook and pen to help you describe what you see in each card (not just the major arcana). It's up to you to learn how to read them, but this is how I was taught: Read the booklet that came with the cards thoroughly, then toss the booklet aside. to refer to *only* when you get stuck. Then take a journal or notebook and look at one card every night, feeling out with your instincts what *you* feel the card represents. As I said, it takes a long time - but you will be able to interpret the cards easily in the long run.
