How to Be a Fortune Teller at a Kids Party?
My Drama Teacher got me a little side volunteer gig playing a "fortune teller" for a 4th grade classroom Halloween party. There will be about 55 kids, both genders, and they'll set me up in a tent in the back of the classroom, with one of those glowing balls that follow your finger. I was wondering what I should say to the kids, as I can't tell all the girls "you will be rich and famous with a handsome husband who resembles Nick Jonas." and all the boys "You'll become a professional race-car driver." Also, kids aren't as naive as they used to be, and I have a feeling, "I see happiness in your future" won't cut it. I've already searched for ideas online and couldn't find anything. Any ideas on things I should say? Thanks so much, I really need help!

- If you want, do something with cards. Make the kids choose a card from a pile and have a phrase for each different number/color card. For example: A black 10, you will stay in touch with old friends. A red 10, you will gradually grow apart from old friends. Some other things you can say are, 'someone you don't know well will help you', 'when you grow up you will move away from siblings', 'something you say will be taken more seriously than you think'. Things like that, they don't really have to be too far into the future. Good luck! =]
- Get a whole bunch of fortune cookies and take the fortunes frome them and memorize them lol haha.. uhh... I see you making a new friend who will stick by your side in the near future You are going to be failing an upcoming test possibly say something about them making money Love is coming your way Pain in the near future will be comforted by a new friend or just I see pain in your future (haha thats kinda mean though) More fun that you have ever had blah blah blah You will be losing a friend or someone very close to you blah blah blah lol goodluck
- I would have to say, try not to say "I see love in your future". Since they are fourth graders, fourth graders fortunes shouldn't have anything to do with love. But I think that saying things like "I see a good fortune in your path", should work well. I like the card idea too. Maybe you could do something with tea too, pretend you see things ;) Things with magic might be cool too. Sorry I can't be of more help, but good luck and have fun with it! -Missk
