what are some myths or stories of fairies?

I am obsesed with fairies I have a collection of them I think they are mystical and peacefull. They make me feel peace but I want to know more about them like why do they have wings, why are they small things like that. I've heard and read things about them but I want to hear more their very interesting. Also I want to know what can I do to my room to make it more fantasy looking.

1. well as far as i kno there were alot of different types, such as nymphs which would be wood, water, earth etc, and also almost everytime ive read about fairies they are described as mischevious and also very dangerous, (leading ppl usually men into the forest and taking away thier memories of wat happened and leaving them to wonder around for a while), ive also read just like alot of mystical beings of old, they didnt like metals such as copper and iron, and thus when everybody started to use these to build everything they moved away to secluded places, if i can remember properlly there were little to no accounts of them being like Tinkerbell or better yet if u remember the peter pan remake, that tink was kinda malicious they were like that very jealousy or somethin u can check it out for ureself, they r cousins to leprichans, trolls and sprites, which were the most dangerous of them all, and then there were the house ones called brownies, these if u were able to find and capture one would do ure bidding for the rest of ure life, like the house elf thingy from harry potter 2 like i said check it out. not tryin to change ure opinion, but this is my 2 cents lol
2. well there's the story of the changelings. faeries would sneak into a house at night, kidnap your child, and replace it with something else. the story varies from a baby shaped piece of wood to an actual faerie baby that got left behind. I could go on for hours about the Faerie Court in Ireland under the Sidhe but you can probably find a lot of this through the magyk of google. happy hunting
