- now seriously... you can't expect a whole set of lessons here on the net. the main thing is get to know your cards. sleep with them under your pillow, infuse them with your energy. and get as many books as you can, try to integrate (the many time conflicting) information from those books (at least 6-10 of them) and then you can call yourself a beginner. start doing lots of readings for yourself, for friends. for fun... just to learn.
- Well dear, the Tarot deck usually comes with a book. But, I suggest the best books for the use of Tarot cards is "Tarot made easy" by Nancy Garen. There is however, more to reading Tarot than what the book interprets, the cards have this magickal ability to increase one's psychic abilities if you pay attention. The querant (person you divine cards for) has energies that will be radiating off of them. If you pay attention you can tune in and the readings will be much more accurate than just interpreting what the book says. Before I do a reading, I light a black candle, I read by the candle light, and first I say this spell; Moon, moon shining bright, help me hone my inner sight, Make my visions clear and true, Show me what I need to do, Whether cards or stones of old (meaning runes) show me what I need to know, Guide my heart an guide my hand, Help me see and understand" I prefer the classic celtic cross layout with ten cards, there are other layouts. The cards have 22 major arcanum cards and 56 minor arcanum cards. The minor arcanum cards are very much like the regular playing cards. (Not Uno Cards).these are further divided into 40 ace through ten cards and sixteen court cards. The major arcanum cards indicate a major event in the life of the querant, the minor arcanum cards indicate the more mundane usual stuff. It is important when the querant asks a question, they place a particular time period on the answer. You can use the cards for meditation and personal reflection. The major arcanum cards chart the journey of a person who starts their journey as the fool, and as they move along their path they meet others and as they interact, the fool grows strong and wise, it is a good life lesson sort of thing. If you perform Wiccan ritual magick you can use the cards for Tarot magick, it is a sympathetic form of magick. I also use Tarot cards to represent the God and Goddess on my altar and the elementals at my quarters. Tarot Cards tie in with Astrology and Numerology. In the minor arcanum there is the court cards and the number cards, the numbered cards have a very special meaning in numerology. The court cards have a very special meaning in astrology. Just know that Tarot cards are incredibly old, since before the days or Christopher Colombus old. No one knows for sure how old, it probably goes back to ancient Egypt. The Tarot cards themselves are not exactly magick but they are an incredibly good focus point to bring the magick out of your subconsciousness, which is where your magick resides anyway. We are all magickal beings. Good luck on your journeys dear. Blessed Be
- For that is what all this "tarot" stuff amounts to. There's no reason to pay for someone else's guesses. Make your own.
