How long did it take before you learned to read your Tarot Cards?
I just got a Tarot deck and book... I'm extremely spiritual, I'm an Indigo, and I'm Intuitive, and I figured this next step into Tarot Reading would be a great choice for me. I'm only on step 4 out of 22 steps on my book. I've been DYING to touch the cards and skip to the part in my book where it gives the meanings... and just start doing a spread for myself... BUT I know this will not benefit me in the long run, for I am a serious "student" to this and want to be the best of my ability :) So how long before you were able to do your first reading on yourself? And how long before you became really good at it to the point where you could do readings for other people, and how good was your accuracy? Thanks! The book that came with my Tarot Cards is : "Easy Tarot Handbook" by Josiephine Ellershaw.

- i have to admit your book sounds a bit contrived. i don't know what book it is so i cant be certain, but it sounds a little like they made up these steps in order to sell you a book. i understand we all have are own ways of learning things, but i think the best way to get better at a reading cards is to use the cards. and of coarse keep studying in the mean time. i have found that individual cards have developed there own meanings that usually coincide with, but don't strictly adhere to what was written in the books. but i had to use the cards many times to understand the patterns and repetition. if you are strictly stuck to book rules, you may miss these things. in my opinion , spiritual things must be experianced to truly be learned. it took me a few months of doing readings that were nothing but reciting the book meanings of the cards, before i started to see more meaning in it. after a year the readings became very acurate to the point of being scary. i suggest you handle the cards carefully, store them respectfully, and use them often
- I do the card spread and refer to the book for meaning and interpretation. I think it will take me a while to remember all the meaning and how the cards relates to each other. I think it will be faster to put an hour each day into study the tarot, Try to get a few tarot books, and compare how the writer interpret the cards.
