Mystical Angels

If people discovers a life (including humans) like a mystical being?

If people discovers a life (including humans) like a mystical being (mermaid, angel, naga, centaur, etc.) will they do experiments on that being, kill it, and then disect it? Or will they let that being live on freely? What do you think?
