1. You will get lots of gurus and guru-trolls here. It doesn't mean they will supply you with what you want to hear.
2. The best way to learn astrology, in my opinion, is to read about it in bookstores like Barnes And Noble. If you feel like investing a little money, buy books that serve as reference, such as an ephemeris, a transit definition book like Hand's "Planets in Transit", and such. Use online free astrology charts like www.astro.com to generate charts. Once you feel like you know enough, answer questions online like on these Yahoo Answers. Gradually build your knowledge about the subject. Although you might not become a professional, you can always enjoy learning. Then again, people do practice professionally, although in my experience it would not make a very profitable occupation unless you are tremendously ambitious about it.
