1. Yeah, none of them is true ! Do NOT listen to them.
2. Horoscopes are vague, made up statements. Ultimately meaningless. They rely on psychological exploitation to 'work'.
3. They use solar houses and a lot of imagination. For example, the Pisces horoscope for today from Yahoo says: >>You really don't need to prove anything to anyone, Pisces. You may be feeling under a bit of pressure to get a lot of work done. But some projects, especially those that require creativity, simply can't be rushed. The second house the whole sign of Aries and so on. So Jupiter is in Aquarius right now and is therefore in Pisces' 12th house. The Sun is in Capricorn so is in Pisces 11th house of friends. Mars is in Leo retrograde in the solar 6th house of Pisces. Now lets look at what was said: "You really don't need to prove anything to anyone, Pisces" The Sun is in the 11th house of friends. "Work" to a modern astrologer is usually the 6th house but it could be the 10th as well. Mars is in Pisces Solar 6th house and is retrograde, turning back on you or applying pressure to you to get work (6th house) done. The solar tenth is Sagittarius and ruled by Jupiter which is about to enter Pisces or complete its cycle so the astrologer might be using this as well to indicate pressure. "But some projects, especially those that require creativity, simply can't be rushed." The 5th is the house of creativity it has Gemini on the cusp and is ruled by Mercury. Mercury is retrograde and we do not rush things when Mercury is retrograde or they go wrong. "You will find that if you take your time and allow your muse to work its magic, you will produce something of real merit in the end. If, however, you try to rush, your time will likely be spent in vain" Pisces "muse" is, according to this astrologer, probably Neptune. Neptune will enter Pisces soon but it may be a year or more. I suppose it could be Jupiter or this is something the writer just stuck in there to sound good. But the next sentence is another reference to retrograde Mercury. It is also possible that the writer is referring to a condition known as cazimi. Mercury is about to enter the heart of the Sun and will be cazimi. So if you act when Mercury is simply retrograde your creativity will come to nothing, but if you wait a day or so to begin, Mercury will be cazimi, a powerful position, and things will work out for you. Anyway, for better or for worse, that is how it is done. The writer needs to know astrology and have a pretty good imagination and an ability to convey complex astrological concepts to an audience with no in depth background in the subject. *************************************************************** Edit: another possibility. Modern astrologers go for this planet=house=sign stuff. Mars is in Leo. Leo is the 5th house of the natural zodiac. The 5th is creativity so Leo is associated with creativity. Mars is in Leo in the 6th so creative (Leo) work (6th house). Mars is retrograde and applies pressure to the native, but will turn direct and then the efforts will be rewarded. But Mars doesn't turn direct for a few more months. Still it fits.
