Seriously, why would anyone think this is helpful?
I came across a person who was in enough pain to want to die, and this was one response: "Ya know what?? Get over yourself already!!!!! God put you here, with the purpose of serving HIM!!! Read Ephesians 6:12; and get ready to be set free!! God is not the problem here, you do NOT know your enemy. Get off your duff, and seek out a biblical deliverance ministry, girl, ya got demonic "oppression". The devil is jerking your chain, and ya don't even know it!!! Ya need to get with a solid Bible preach-en God fear-en Holy Ghost church family, and praise and worship this junk out of your life!! Alleluia!!!Seriously, I'm part of a spiritual warfare team, and God is get-ten ready to bring the "house' down. Seeker friendly, prosperity preach-en churches are starting to empty out, and God done with the devil running most of the church, He's taking them back! Praise God! Amen! And he wants YOU on His team, so , get that junk off your backside, and get going! The spiritual world is very real, and the demonic is very manipulating. If you do not know where to go, check with a Bible book store, they will know where to seek deliverance. Been there, done this, The Word never fails!! Here is a book that is an excellent book on this subject. Healing through Deliverance, by Peter Horrobin, www.chosenbooks.org, your Bible book store SHOULD have it. it was very insight full, and has proven to be a valuable tool." Where on earth do these types get the idea that attacking someone in pain is going to make them feel better? 'Cause that's what Jesus would do?

- no
- because most people who are religious are so religious because they can't think openly about anything.
- Welcome to the "loving" care of Christianity.
- Ah religious zealots....we have enough of those. I suppose they see it as tough love, but I see it as bullshit
- probably some troll... or if they were serious I would be even more concerned... O_O
- Whoever said that is a worthless piece of garbage and they dill die a slow painful death.
- que ¿
- I know. There are a lot of mean people on this website.
- ok i got like halfway through your paragraph and had no idea what it had to do with the question.
- The person that just said that is an idiot. They should've tried to provide some comfort if they were going to say anything at all. Some people are just insane. Jesus would NOT do that, and the individual that wrote that is a bad representative for him.
- LAME! Man, I do not understand religion but I definitely don't like how some act like slaves to the guy and try dragging down people with them with the wrong reasons... Whoever said that to the poor person is an IDIOT!
- some people aren't open minded...when they know one thing they stick with it and that's the only thing they can use to help people...even though sometimes it does more harm than good. There's nothing you can do about it and everyone has their own opinion. If you know this person that wants to die...then talk to them about it. Tell them what they would lose and leave behind...and tell them how wonderful they are. That's about all that could help. People that really wanna kill themselves are gonna do it whether someone tells them not to....or not. It's really a sad state of affairs.
- Perhaps the answerer wasn't serious? I wouldn't take that as a serious answer.
- i think the person who wrote that whole thing about gettin over himself because he was in pain and bla bla bla he needs to get over himself. that one person is in pain and he needs to get help soon and that guy is telling him to get over himself? WHAT???? :(((( that is weird. he should really think about what he is saying, BEFORE HE SAYS IT!!!
- Fundies attack everyone.
- I am surrounded by people like this. They are evil plain and simple. I don't care what they call t hemselves.... evil is evil.
- Because sometimes a person needs a kick in the pants more than they need someone pandering to their self-pity. Sometimes being all nicey-nice to someone will send them over the edge, having them think that they are just getting the same old bull from people and that it is just false sympathy yet again. If you had ever been on the edge of suicide, then you'd know this. If someone is here then they've probably heard all of the soft approaches plenty of times before, and it hasn't worked. If something doesn't work, then it is nonsense to keep doing it. Time to try a different method.
- i know its like saying its ur fault u have a DEMON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ur hopeless without help from god there is only one god. I feel sorry for the person who was in pain and had to hear that BS i know what its like i've been told i had a demon 2 and i was like shut up i don't!!!!!! the sad part is that people just assume that others are cristain.
- I know what you are talking about...I saw that answer, too. I doubt very much that that person helped that poor girl. I hope the poor thing is okay......I told her to e-mail me back if she'd like to talk. I hope she does.
- hehehehhe. that is funny. NO that is not helping at all. It only keeps you more confused. Remember this, Everything that you are looking for is already inside of you. You are the Church. All you have to do is love. Everything else will follow. Make sure you don't ever close your heart. forgive always. Live your life and don't worry about what people think. Make healthy choices and remember this, we are held accountable for our actions. Nobody is to blame. Forgive the past, meaning Let go. Live, Live, Live. peace and light
- Well "Healing through Deliverance" is definitely one book I won't be reading. Obviously all people who are in pain and anguished, should just "get over themselves". Christian charity at it's scariest.
- Some people, perhaps, have never been in those deep dark pits of despair! I think that we, even Christians, will go thru horrid times just so when the time comes, we KNOW what someone else is going thru. And not just give a pat answer. Sometimes, the right response God wants from us in response to someone's pain is to just be there, with them- understanding what it is like. To be a friend, to cry with them, etc. To admit we don't have all the answers. The person who gave that response, better not be surprised, I think, when one day- one storm comes and smashes up his dreams.... and God lets Satan sift him like wheat, too.
- What a crock of excreta from the "Holier than Thou".
- Typical christian response to someone who's in pain. Where's the compassion and love and care that Jesus was supposed to have advocated? Nasty stuff, this religion.
- The guy sounds like an idiot. Rude and many other words I should not write. Let us hope for his families sake, nothing comes out of his mouth like that should they be terminally ill. This man does not know what other peoples pain is. Some people are on their deathbed praying to live too. Where is God then? The man in pain I am sure is of sound mind. It his his wish and his life. The other man should think about others difficulties before shoving God and His words down their throat.
- No, that is not what Jesus would do.......and it doesn't take much reading to see what He did and said. He had to correct His followers on several occasion's for similar things. . After He left, His diciples, and Paul taught a compassionate gospel and service to our fellow man. .....to weep with those who weep, to reach out in love, not arrogance. This fellow is typical under educated and over zealous. I would not let someones over zealousness detract from what Jesus taught. p.s. it saddens me to see so much periferal rant, and little of the heart of God on Y/A
- Wow! I'm almost speechless at the answer this person providing the hurting person. I guess they thought they were providing a helpful answer of sorts. Where does this person live? Demons? Demons? Have we gone back to Salem, MA of the late 1600s? I have such a hard time believing this is a real response to someone's pain. Where is the compassion? That is the last thing I'd want to hear if I felt like ending my life . . . that I was possessed by some demon. But come to think of it, since it's such a preposterous idea I actually might laugh if someone said this to me. Maybe it would be helpful in such a lunatic way . . . but of course THAT interaction would have to take place in person . . . via Y!A I would feel so discounted and disconnected. Hopefully there were others to actually provide some helpful answers. This person is nuttier than a nutbar . . . and that's pretty nutty! A book I would recommend for that wacko pseudo Christian to read themselves would be The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark by Carl Sagan & Ann Druyan . . . but of course I can't contact that unhelpful person. The most important thing is that I hope that that poor person who wanted to end their life received some helpful advice from some OTHER people on Y!A because there really are helpful compassionate people here.
