Should i confess this sin?

As a Christian Non-denominational are we supposed to confess our sins with our spiritual brother and sisters in order to get healing? I know that our sins get forgiven my God but in order to get real healing, does that mean that we must confess them? James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. What should i do if someone that i love as my number 2 has done something illegal to me? Should i confess on that and have him be in jail or should i just have great mercy on him and forgive and have him ask God to forgive him? I have prayed to God to show me what he wants me to do but what are your thoughts on this?

I dont see how someone else doing something illegal is your sin. If your trying to say you were raped, that is not your fault, that is his, and your not obliged to tell everyone. Though I'd phone the police.

If someone does something illegal, they can still be forgiven, however they must still be held morally accountable. Actions have consequences. That person cannot be forgiven until they themselves have confessed their wrongdoing, no matter how much mercy you have on them. Part of confessing their illegal act if paying the price for what they did, not getting off scot free.
No, jail is mans ways of taking care of people....God is a mercifull God.... He says forgive your brother 7 x 70 times.... If He hurt you bad ...then maybe you should back off from him, if you have the Holy Spirit of God and a relationship with God He will give you answers, talk to Him...we dont have the details and even if we did it sounds like God could and will help you. I think jail hurts people more than helps. I never confess my sins to others....I have studied that verse it may not mean that.......

Be careful on the thought that God wants you to forgive those who do you wrong. For some people will want to take advantage of that. I don't know what is it that he did to you. Some things you just have to confess to everyone. There are things that you can't hide. That's why there are police. Sometimes telling it is the best way to prevent it from happening again. So how does the man learn his lesson about the wrong that he done? Why are you enabling him? Confessing will not relieve you of the wrong he and you done. What make you think that it will not happened again? By forging him, you without realizing it gave him permission to do it again because you did nothing to him before.

I may say to him that I have already settled it with the Lord yet I ask you to forgive me. It was a moment of weakness that I fell in it. I should not have done, or spoke so. Please start reading in Matthew( nkjv) I think you find the answer there. Your burden should be light if you do It God's way. Your to forgive 7x70. Constantly praying, constantly,reading the word .You know fasting(giving up something you enjoy or certain foods until God shows you a sign) and praying go hand in hand God is there with you. yes, I remember what james said, but think he meant to confess and admit your weaknesses to one another...since only God can forgive. You need not confess to any human for God to forgive you. (What illegal thing did #2 do?) Yes, you will need to forgive him , but may be he need earthly justice also, so he does not hurt you again.
Therefore, confess your sins to one another, your u/standing of this teaching is in error. it simply means confess your sins to THE PERSON YOU HURT ... not to any tom, dick or harry not even to a preacher.
