When doing a tarot reading are the card upright to you or to the person asking the question?

Hard to explain, like if i deal 3 cards face up and look "upright" to me are they actually read as "inverted" because they are up-side-down to the person you are doing to reading for?? how does this work?

1. Deal them according to the reader, not the querent. The reader is the one who is channeling the power.
2. If you're the reader and they are upright then they are upright. After the querent shuffles you're the one who is dealing the cards and reading them.
