how do tarot cards work?
Some people use tarot cards daily, almost like a real life horoscope, is that part of a religious practice? Like wiccan or something? (Sorry if I'm way off don't take offence ) how do the cards work? Can you make your own cards? Do you have to "know what your doing" to use the cards? Sorry so many questions, I really want to know! Thanks :)

- i thought they didn't work i must be wrong
- Imagination
- how do tarot cards work? THEY DON'T!
- You pick some cards out of a deck, make up some mystical sounding BS about them, then tell yourself whatever it was you already wanted to hear about your life. TA DAAAAAAA!!!!!
- The same way as an ordinary deck of cards. Shuffle 'em, deal 'em and call aces high or low.
- They don't
- Sure, you can make your own cards or pick from a good selection at www.isisbooks.com. Cards are a visual tool. They are not devilish or otherwise sinful. They originated from a card game. A person who uses Tarot cards should have a gift of sorts for visual interpretation. I let 'seekers' pick their own cards face up. Subconsciously, they choose the cards that represent their problems or questions. Nothing arcane is involved.
- They can give you a random new perspective to look at a situation, with the cards having meanings and the positions having meanings. But it's not magical. You know how on comedy improv shows how people will shout out like a person, place, and situation? It's kind of like that. Only instead of being funny or tedious, it's a new perspective that's useful or not. If you have the money, pick a deck with artwork that you like and actually makes you think of different things. You can get them at bookstores, over the internet, or have a bookstore order them even.
- Check out my blog post on exactly that question: http://thetarotpsychics.blogspot.com You can use the cards daily to see what trends or themes or anything you should watch out for in the day. Some people use them as a form of transformation symbolism to help you grow and overcome obstacles. And no you do not need to know what you are doing to read the cards, only need your intuition. I'll be loading up the beginning of video series on learning tarot tonight if you are interested to learn the intuitive way: http://www.myonlinetarotcardreadings.com/learn-tarot.html
- uhm... actually I don't know if you people will believe this, but yes, you can make and design your own tarots. but it should have the same symbols of the real tarots it should have the major and minor arcana. Tarot cards really work. You must concentrate and you must be open minded and believe in your gift. Well. i believe everybody can read the tarot if they would only believe and be confident and concentrate in what you are doing i'm only 14 and i can read the tarot.
- Tarot cards tap into two things: the world we cannot see and our own experiences. There are clearly things beyond the world we see. Do Tarot cards tap into this? I would tend to doubt it. I think Tarot cards true power comes from you. The cards have do not really have any meaning until you interpret them with aspect of your life. And I think that process where you think about things in your life is the real power. I bought a deck of cards and book at Barnes and Noble. I will add which is is later. The first ones I bought I did not like. Maybe it was chi or just a poorly written book. I find the set I have now is great! I thin you need an attractive set of cards and good guidance to get started. I will add a few links that might help too.
- Tarot cards were intended to work as a card game similar to Spades and Euchre. Contrary to popular belief, the Tarot was not originally intended as a divination tool. The Tarot was originally used for a type of card game still played today in many European countries. While the Tarot first appeared in 15th century Italy for use as a game, it was after the 18th century following the influence of an Antoine Court de Gebelin that the cards became popular as a divinatory tool. Although there exisited an earlier form of Tarot divination in 18th century Bologna Italy, most of the popular divinatory meanings in use today are derived from the French cartomancer Etteilla.
