People of R&S! Which superstition annoys you the most?
Rather than asking which religions annoy you which gets asked all the time, I thought I'd see if you have any pet hates amongst the superstitions and spiritual practices that go on? Be it psychics, alternative therapies, ouija boards, third eyes etc. etc. etc. Mine is astrology. It's just so obviously utter rubbish! I just can't understand why so many people need to see their horoscopes and why so many celebrities have their own private chart readers!? Not only is this baseless practice an insult to modern science, what enrages me most of all is the number of ordinary people who don't know the difference between an "astronomer" and an "astrologer!"

- The Ancient Navajo Way doesn't allow us to talk on the phone when it's raining... And it's raining all the time here...sheesh.... The bigger question here is why did the Navajo Elders have phones waaaaaaay back in the day?
- Astrology is absurd to me too
- This one: "you can be as bad as Hitler and if you repent last minutes you go to haven"
- Fundamentalism. And to quote your lovely answer: It's utter rubbish. I just can't understand why so many people think it's actually Christianity. Not only is this baseless denomination an insult to genuine Christianity, what enrages me most of all is the number of ordinary people who don't know the difference between a "Christian" and a "fundamentalist!"
- I hate astrology as well. I read all of the signs on the back of a magazine once and they all said "you will find a new love and get rich" on every one of them, but with different words. And guess what? It hasn't happened Utter BS :)
- Scientlology... its founders and senior memebers ADMIT its a tax dodge... they come right out and say they invented the religion to have a church so they could avoid paying taxes.... no one was supposed to BELIEVE in it..... it was a "ecnomic experiment" that acquired a life of its own and now its followers have to go along with the "church" idea or they become heretics
- Better you just ignore them.
- For me it has got to be those beliefs like "crystal healing" which try to use pseudoscience to justify themselves and make them acceptable.
- Making the sign of the cross when going past a church
