What special rituals or concerns when transplanting elder?

I need to move an elder bush. I've been told that it is sometimes not wise to move elder bushes. From a mystical (fairy faith, wicca, witchcraft, druid, etc) perspective, what should I do to make sure everything goes smoothly?

1. Well, from a witchcraft perspective, it would be best not to disturb it unnecessarily. Accepting that the ideal is not always practical, you may have to. And in that case, you should do so with respect, I would suggest at the dark moon, near the turn of the tides. From a gardening perspective, I don't think you'll ever get rid of it from where it is though - it will keep coming back. Elder is practically indestructible, as I know from experience.
