- The Lovers is you and your ex 9 of cups is about your emotions and feelings and could mean that you should be celebrating life and looking on the bright side of things instead of feeling sorry about your current situation 9 of swords is about conflict and could mean that you need to learn new ways of communicating and think about what is holding you back and causing you to feel isolated My interpretation would be that maybe you should find a way to talk together about what has happened and find out what went wrong before you make any decision to go back with your ex I'm just an amateur tarot wolf though, so just don't take my word for it
- Lovers card means romantic relationship...or a choice. I always usually interpret the Lovers card as making a choice Nine of Cups mean wishes coming true Nine of Swords means worry. So I would interpret this as you are worrying so much about a romantic relationship that it may be keeping you from your dream of having one and the situation may be not as severe as think it is (basically worrying over nothing) I would suggest ty to live life to the fullest worrying about this relationship could potentially keep you from seeking what your heart truly desires. best wishes
- The Lovers This card is not necessarily about a romance, despite its name, since as one of the Major Arcana it transcends ordinary social experiences. There are other cards, such as the Two of Cups, that more obviously talk about relationships. The Lovers is more about revelation, a sudden discovery of something new and powerful, it's big and it just hits you from out of nowhere - it could be a new passion, a spiritual revelation, an almost overpowering love (which can be spiritual in its way), a discovery about yourself, etc. All your life you have heard of these revelatory experiences, and now you finally know what people were raving about. So it could be about discovering love, yes, but it can also apply to so much more. The Nine of Cups This card has to do with emotions and social relationships, like all those in the cups. Coming at the end of the numbers in the suit, as 9 out of 10, it indicates someone who has had a lot of emotional ups and downs, has gone on a journey of sorts and has had to think a lot of things over. However, they've come through it all themselves, though not necessarily without the guidance or support of others, and they've gained a lot of knowledge and self-confidence from their experiences. They've worked hard to get where they're at now, and now all they have to do is sit back and relax. They know they don't have to prove anything to anyone – the fruits of their efforts will speak for them. I don't agree with the other Answerers exactly, but they have touched on some meanings of this card – it is about positive emotions and granted wishes, but the person in the card has granted these wishes for themselves through their own hard work, and has earned these positive emotions. A bit like film The Frog Princess. The Nine of Swords The suit of swords is about intellect, conflict, consequences and negative emotions. The Nine of Swords is all about anxiety and fear. The figure in this card has just awoken from a nightmare, and is obviously distressed. The swords cross the top of the image just as they cross the mind of the person they are afflicting. The conflict of other sword cards are usually external, but this conflict is a struggle inside the mind of the querent - and the enemy is their own fear, depression, grief or other dark emotions. In the case of the Nine of Swords, the blackness of the card is a self-imposed darkness that the querent must conquer by regaining their rational mind, but also by seeking help from the powers of the other cards. Whomever the Nine of Swords is drawn for could really use a pick-me-up in the form of The Star or The Fool, to show them the tiny speck of light within the darkness that will grow brighter, if they allow it to. You may think all is lost but it isn't, not really; you're still alive, aren't you? This reading is a very interesting combination of cards, but since it's such a small reading it's hard for me to guess as to how they relate to each other, or to your situation. That's all up to you to decide, in the end. Anyways, I hope this was useful or helpful to you in some way!
